Sam Jackson Has Harsh Words For ‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’

First it was George Lucas and now it seems Sam Jackson has some harsh words for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Jackson appeared on ABC promoting The Hateful Eight and had this to say to Peter Travers:

“It’s…it’s…it’s done in the spirit of the Star Wars films… adventuresome and exciting, in a way” before delivering his real thought: “I think the kids need to go to lightsaber fight school.”

Sam Jackson

No one is going to disagree that Star Wars: The Force Awakens is different than any of the prequels but does that warrant the harsh words from Sam Jackson? J.J. Abrams has been very upfront about how the lightsaber sequences are rawer than it’s predecessors, but is that necessarily a bad thing? Star Wars is currently crushing everything at the box-office not only because of the name recognition of the film but more importantly because it’s an excellent film. What are your thoughts on Jackson’s comments?
