Deathstroke To Be The Main Villain In Ben Affleck’s ‘Batman’ Film

This morning, Ben Affleck tweeted a video of a live action Deathstroke, leading to TONS of fan speculation. Many assumed that the video meant the mercenary will be appearing in next year’s Justice League movie. While that may still be the case, it is now being reported that Slade Wilson will actually be the central antagonist of the standalone Batman film.

The Wrap has the exclusive:

Deathstroke will, in fact, be the main antagonist of the Batman standalone movie he’s directing, TheWrap has exclusively learned from an individual with knowledge of the situation.

Very little is known about the Batman film, other than that Affleck himself is directing, as well as co-writing the script with DC Comics President and Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.

It was also previously reported by Birth.Movies.Death. that “many, if not most, members of Batman’s rogue’s gallery will be making appearances in the film.” That is probably still the case, with Deathstroke taking center stage.

This is a developing story.
