‘Star Trek Beyond’ Trailer to Screen with ‘The Force Awakens’

The Hollywood Reporter revealed this morning that a promo for next summer’s Star Trek Beyond will be attached to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. With studios vying to get their trailers screened with what very well may be the biggest movie opening of all time, writer Pamela McClintock reports:

One studio already prevailing is Paramount, which will unveil a promo for Star Trek Beyond tied to Force Awakens, sources tell The Hollywood Reporter.

Franchise rivalries aside, this comes with little surprise. Director J.J. Abrams manned the helm for the first two films in the new Star Trek franchise, and maintains a producer role for Beyond. Abrams declined to direct the third Star Trek in order to take on The Force Awakens.

THR also speculates on other trailers that may air with Star Wars, including Batman v. Superman: Dawn of JusticeThe Huntsman’s Winter WarX-Men: Apocalypse, and Independence Day: Resurgence, among other Disney-owned properties.
