AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR: Russo Brothers Make It Look Like Captain America, Thor, And Iron Man All Die!

Today is not a good day to be an Avenger, as from the latest trailer for Avengers: Infinity War it looks like the big three bit the dust.

Captain America, Iron Man, and Thor all have a run in with Thanos in the film. In the second trailer, Tony Stark and Thor are bloody and beaten. Steve Rogers looks like Thanos is just toying with him, and he’s going to get squashed like a bug.

My first theory from this trailer was that we were getting a look at Thor’s new hammer as he’s gathering lighting and Groot and Rocket Racoon look on. The scene of Thanos holding Thor’s head could be a flashback that takes place between the end Thor: Ragnarok and the after credits scene featuring the Guardians of the Galaxy.

The huge question, is why Bruce Banner is in a Hulkbuster armor? Is the Hulk going to bust out from inside the armor? Anything to make the nerds squeal I guess (sigh). It was good to see the Black Widow give Bruce the look. Let the fans have their romance. Which brings me to my final point; if anyone is going to save Tony from a Thanos punch, it has to be the Hulk. He’s the only one that could turn the tide and survive.

PS – Give Captain America his damn shield back! If he is going to die in this film, he needs his stars and stripes.

Exclusive Preview: JUSTICE LEAGUE #41 – The Power Ring Does What Now?

Justice League #41 hits your local comic book store on March 21, but thanks to DC Comics, Monkeys Fighting Robots has an exclusive four-page preview for you.

Justice League #41 is written by Christopher Priest, with art by Pete Woods, colors by Jeromy Cox, letters by Willie Schu, with the main cover by David Yardin, and a variant cover by J.G. Jones.

Jones’ cover is pinup glory that builds tension with the African backdrop, the Red Hood, and Red Lion. Priest has a way to keep the story grounded and relatable, but also epic. He also tosses in a physics lesson for good measure, giving the super nerds more ammunition for the Green lantern powering debates. Woods’ two-page spread gives a great panning shot of the scale of the Watchtower and devastation it caused.

About the issue:
“JUSTICE LOST” part two! What does justice mean in a lawless world? This is the question the team must struggle with when the League finds itself trapped between warring factions, helpless refugees and mercenaries with advanced weaponry, all manipulated by Deathstroke’s frenemy the Red Lion. Meanwhile, Batman forces a showdown between himself and the League’s biggest fan.

If anything this trailer leaves fans with even more questions leading up to the release? Who is going to survive this epic clash with Thanos? The part that seems to be most telling is it appears that Captain America and Iron Man each have their separate encounters with this purple-faced menace. Are they going to be a casualty of war? Wes Craig Puts On A Show In DEADLY CLASS #32

Deadly Class begins a new arc, with the new students fighting alongside the previous class in a fight against the Yakuza.

SPOILERS LIE AHEAD

We are now thirty-two issues into the dynamite Image series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig. This new arc comes out of the gate at full throttle.

One of the most impressive things about Remender’s writing has been the smooth transition of the new cast. It was a bold move that paid off.

Now with Marcus and Maria back in the mix, having the new students fighting back-to-back with our favorite power couple is supremely satisfying. Quan, Zenzele, Helmut, and Tosahwi are now fully formed characters, ready to proceed to the next level of King’s Dominion’s challenges.

Quan’s betrayal, working for Saya’s Yakuza brother, has delivered top-notch drama. Getting to see Marcus and Viktor briefly team-up before their revenge showdown was full of palpable tension and emotion.

Each one of these kids is relatable in a different way, the different baggage they all bring with them into this bloodbath will put readers on edge. Deadly Class is an intimate reading experience for those of us who have been reading issue to issue. In an issue this bloody, every page turn could be a heartbreaker.

This issue allowed Wes Craig to be an absolute rock star. He unleashes an unrelenting assault of gorgeous carnage on your eyeballs. His layouts are crisp and creative, dressing up a massacre in his unique style. Jordan Boyd colors these pages with a simple and stunning appeal.

The action sequences are fast-paced and brutal. Marcus mentions Frank Miller comics early in the issue, the Yakuza members resembling the mutant gang members from The Dark Knight Returns was a nice touch. Wes Craig dazzles throughout the entire issue.

How long does this series have to continue being fantastic for it to get more attention? Perhaps if the SyFy Deadly Class pilot gets picked up, the comic will gain the larger audience it deserves.

Next issue we’ll get to see Marcus and Viktor go toe-to-toe. Will we be losing a Deadly Class staple? Will Marcus finally exact his revenge? One thing’s for sure, Wes Craig is going to put on another show. His fight choreography and layouts never disappoint.

Square Enix Confirms SHADOW OF THE TOMB RAIDER, Release Date

When it comes to leaks and rumors, many surrounding Square Enix hit the internet this week. This morning the developer and publisher made them true, announcing the third installment in its rebooted Tomb Raider series. On September 14, Shadow of the Tomb Raider will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Unlike the past installments, Lara Croft’s newest adventure will not be exclusive to any platform. Which is good seeing how Rise of the Tomb Raider‘s timed exclusivity on Xbox One angered a lot of PlayStation 4 owners. Primarily because the franchise started out on PlayStation (and Sega Saturn) in 1996. If you’re looking for info regarding Shadow‘s plot you’ll have to wait until next month.

April 27 to be exact. Square Enix has also decided to make the full reveal of the game even more of a treat for fans. As they can register on the game’s official website to participate in events where they can try out the game early. Also released was a teaser trailer for the game which can be watched below.

Judging by the end of the trailer, it appears Lara may be trying to beat the antagonist group Trinity to a possible discovery involving the Aztecs. As of November 2017, the past two titles have sold a combined 18 million units. Coincide that with the release of the franchise’s movie reboot, it looks to be a good week for Croft and her fans.

Annabella Sciorra Joins LUKE CAGE Season 2 As Rosalie Carbone

Annabella Sciorra has boarded Luke Cage season 2 as Rosalie Carbone, as revealed by Entertainment Weekly.

The actress will reportedly be playing “a dangerous downtown criminal underworld power player with an eye, and an agenda, toward Harlem.”

Sciorra is most known for her work in 1991’s Jungle Fever. Most recently, she played Nancy Brass in CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. Additionally, Sciorra was featured on The Sopranos for 3 years.

Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker noted that he is a big fan of Sciorra.

“I’ve been a huge fan of hers since Spike Lee’s Jungle Fever, and Anabella Sciorra is no joke as Rosalie Carbone. You haven’t seen her this gangster since her thrilling turn as Tony’s formidable flame Gloria Trillo on season 3 of The Sopranos. I’m thrilled her introduction to the Marvel Universe will be on Marvel’s Luke Cage.”

Along with Coker’s comments, Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb had this to say on the new casting.

“We couldn’t be happier to be working with such an incredible talent. This character is complex and layered and Annabella is the perfect actress to portray her.”

MARVEL TWO-IN-ONE Begins Search For The Richards Family

Marvel Two-In-One embarks on a journey through the multiverse in search of the Richards family. Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm represent the FF faithful as they desperately look to reunite their family.

SPOILERS LIE AHEAD

Writer Chip Zdarsky, the latest Marvel-exclusive talent, has been more than filling the FF-sized hole in our hearts. What could have been a cheap place holder for those of us growing impatient with the lack of Richards family members has been much more.

Marvel Two-In-One has dealt with the loss and void created by the Richards family’s absence, but it didn’t linger. Zdarsky addressed the elephant in the room and began taking us on a multiversal journey.

Four issues in and we’re tagging along with Johnny and Ben as they begin searching for their other Fantastic two. It’s not a misdirection intended to make you forget about the FF and make way for a new team. Zdarsky is up front with fan frustration and extracting a story from it.

The first stop in our search through the multiverse delivers a universe in which Dr. Doom took over the body of Galactus and ate everything in the universe outside of Earth. This could quite possibly be one of the best multiverse stories in recent memory. The “Doom Universe” is classic comic book fun, a Fantastic Four story without Reed there to solve this new puzzle.

Marvel was wise to lock Zdarsky up, his work on this title and Spectacular Spider-Man have proved that he has way more than just comedy to offer. His balance of light attitudes and heavy stakes is masterful.

Taking readers on this journey to find our beloved Richards family is going to pay off once they inevitably return. We’re already invested in the search, then going through the trials and tribulations of Johnny and Ben is going to add layers. It’s also going to be a hell of an entertaining ride

This is shaping up to be one of the best Fantastic Four titles not starring the regular roster. Similar to Fraction & Allred’s FF run, it’s a fresh examination at how important the “First Family” is. All while spending some valuable and entertaining time with some different characters.

Valerio Schiti and Frank Martin are contributing stunning artwork. Creative layouts, beautiful color schemes, and sleek re-designs make for a supremely pleasing atmosphere.

Marvel Two-In-One is one of the best looking superhero comics currently on the shelves. The creative team behind these panels is putting a lot of heart and craft into every issue.

Marvel Studios has announced the second trailer for Avengers: Infinity War will be unveiled tomorrow. They made the announcement with a short video on Twitter.

What do you expect from this trailer? I want new story details, but this is where Marvel needs to play it safe. In the past, as their films have gotten closer to release, the studio has repeatedly dropped spoilers in trailers and other forms of marketing. With Infinity War, Marvel needs to give fans a taste of what the plot will be, while not giving anything away. Nothing would be worse than to have a major story element spoiled more than a month before the movie releases.

“As the Avengers and their allies have continued to protect the world from threats too large for any one hero to handle, a new danger has emerged from the cosmic shadows: Thanos. A despot of intergalactic infamy, his goal is to collect all six Infinity Stones, artifacts of unimaginable power, and use them to inflict his twisted will on all of reality.
