A mere five weeks after its release, Wonder Woman is still a tour de force in the box office, recently surpassing Suicide Squad’s earnings. Though director Patty Jenkins has not yet officially signed on, she is supposedly working on a story with Geoff Johns. It looks as though Princess Diana of Themyscira will be seen at heart of another major global conflict – the Cold War.
According to Screen Rant, Wonder Woman 2 may be another period piece, as opposed to the present day DCEU, in the aftermath of the forthcoming Justice League flicks. Set during the 1980s, the film will send Diana against the forces of Soviet Union in the closing days of the Cold War.
Screen Rant is also reporting that Chris Pine will reprise his role as Steve Trevor. Given the events of the first Wonder Woman movie, discussions will be had as to how he will return.
