Gal Gadot Signs On For Justin Kurzel’s WWII Thriller ‘Ruin’, Christian Bale May Join

Gal Gadot is starting to fill out her non Wonder Woman schedule, and has decided to join Justin Kurzel’s upcoming World War II thriller Ruin. Christian Bale had been offered a role as well, though nothing is confirmed on his end.

Here is a breakdown of the plot from the Deadline report:

Scripted by Matthew & Ryan Firpo, Ruin is in the vein of Inglorious Basterds and Fury, a gritty period revenge-thriller. A nameless ex-Nazi captain navigates the ruins of post-WWII Germany. Determined to atone for his crimes during the war, he hunts down the surviving members of his former SS Death Squad.

Ruin should begin filming early in 2018 in order for Gal Gadot to wrap production before heading into Wonder Woman 2. Bale, on the other hand, has put on a few pounds to play Dick Cheney in an untitled Adam McKay film, so it’s unclear if he will have the time or wherewithal to shed the weight and join Kurzel’s film.

As for Kurzel, this looks to be a bounce back effort after Assassin’s Creed floundered. And what better way to get back on the right track that killing some Nazis in a war torn mid-century Europe?

Stay tuned for updates on Ruin.
