Things may or may not be what they seem in Unsane, the new psychological thriller from Steven Soderbergh, the hardest working retiree in the universe.
Unsane has a new trailer, and it is unnerving. A.F. It really seems to be tapping into those fears most of us have had, like what if we were in prison or a mental institution for something we didn’t do? But what if… we did do the thing? Anyway, check this out:
Jonathan Bernstein & James Greer wrote Unsane, which centers on a young woman (Foy) who is involuntarily committed to a mental institution where she is confronted by her greatest fear — but is it real or is it a product of her delusion?
It’s a rather straightforward premise, and it was also shot in secret using an iPhone last year. It seems the auteur has gotten a third wind in his career and is ready to unleash some awesome work over the next few years.
Claire Foy is delightful in The Crown, and appears to be in a whole different gear here. And if you notice in the trailer, you will spot the most underused actress in Hollywood: Juno Temple.
Unsane also stars Joshua Leonard, Jay Pharoah and Amy Irving. It will hit theaters March 23.
