SDCC: ‘Triple Threat’ What We Know So Far

A couple of days ago, a trailer for Triple Threat was released. The news came unexpectedly but you should recognize some of the faces in the trailer below. Of course, that’s only if you follow the martial arts genre.

What we know so far

A while back there were rumors of Scott Adkins joining Iko Uwais for ‘The Raid 3,’ which in the end was just that. What we have here instead is an ensemble cast of the best martial artists in entertainment right now.

Tony Jaa (Ong Bak, SPL 2), Iko Uwais (The Raid, The Raid 2: Berendal), Tiger Chen (Man of Tai Chi) are the eponymous triple threat and they face off against a trio of assassins consisting of Scott Adkins (Undisputed 2: Last Man Standing, Undisputed 3: Redemption), Michael Jai White (Blood and Bone, Never Back Down 2, Black Dynamite), and Michael Bisping (xXx: Return of Xander Cage).

Celina Jade (Arrow), and Jeeja Yanin (Chocolate, Raging Phoenix) are also part of the film.

Most of the cast has been involved in some of the best choreography ever made in movies. Ranging from Tony Jaa’s impressive display of Muay Thai and crazy acrobatics to the more brutal Silat of Iko Uwais to the solid speedy combination of Michael Jai White, we are in for a treat.

I haven’t seen anything from Jeeja Yanin since 2008 but trust me her skills are legit. It is an absolute pleasant surprise to see her back in action.

Personally, I cannot wait to go see this film. Since we’re being honest, this was the only trailer from San Diego Comic-Con that had me in a giddy state. Nothing else that has been announced since has shaken me to the core.
