Christopher Lee, star of Hammer Horror Films, The Lord of The Rings, the Star Wars films, and many other films, has passed away at the age of 93.
According to a report in The Guardian, Lee passed away at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London. Lee actually passed away Sunday morning, but his wife of 53 years, former model Birgit Kroencke, wanted to make sure all family and friends were notified before releasing the news to the public.
Lee made his name playing Dracula in the Hammer Horror films in the 60s and 70s, but soon found himself a goto actor for all types of franchise films. He appeared as Scaramanga in the James Bond film The Man With The Golden Gun, as well as The Lord of The Rings trilogy and Star Wars Episodes 1-3. Lee also appeared in such films as the cult classic 70s horror The Wicker Man, Sleepy Hollow, and Tim Burton’s adaptation of Charlie and The Chocolate Factory.
