Plot Rumor: Spider-Man Is An Urban Legend In The MCU

Captain America: Civil War will introduce the most popular character in Marvel Comics history with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The studio has previously announced this Peter Parker / Spider-Man will not go through another origin story. So how will the Marvel Cinematic Universe introduce your friendly neighborhood wall crawler?

As an urban legend!

According to sources at Heroic Hollywood, the latest rumor is that Peter Parker has been active as Spider-Man for a little over a year during the events of Captain America: Civil War and by the time the standalone Spider-Man film comes out in 2017, Peter would have been Spider-Man for two years.
