Emilia Clarke is making a jump from Essos to the galaxy far far away. She will be appearing in the Han Solo movie.
According to Starwars.com, the Game of Thrones actress is joining the cast of the film. Clarke will appear alongside Alden Ehrenreich, who is playing the young Han. Donald Glover of Community fame is going to play the young Lando Calrissian.
Little is known about who Clarke will be playing. The article states, “Clarke’s role will round out a dynamic cast of characters that Han and Chewie will encounter on their adventures.”
The movie takes place 10 years before the events of A New Hope. Glover’s casting hints the film might show how Han won the Millennium Falcon from Lando. This could involve a game of sabacc, which has long been a part of Star Wars lore.
Clarke is reprising her role as Daenrys in Game of Thrones‘ seventh season, which is now in production.
The Han Solo film is aiming for a 2018 release.
