Casting Adam Warlock For ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3’

Adam Warlock Is Coming To The MCU But Who Play The Golden God?

For as long as he’s been rumored, there have never been any casting rumblings for Adam Warlock. But after ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2, it appears things will soon kick into overdrive. While the execution of Marvel Cinematic Universe villains leaves much to be desired, the casting choices are mostly spot-on. Ranging from Tom Hiddleston as Loki to James Spader as Ultron, great names have played some infamous baddies. To keep up that momentum, the MCU will need to find the perfect “perfect being”.

Below is an assortment of actors with something unique to offer. Since there are varying incarnations of Adam Warlock, I took some liberties with my casting choices.

Don’t forget to let me know your pick in the comments below!

4. Domhnall Gleeson

Adam Warlock

– Familiar with Disney, Domhnall Gleeson can bring Star Wars experience over to the MCU side of things. As Adam Warlock in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 3‘, Gleeson could bring a stern quality to the role. He’d be the perfect serious character to outset the over-the-top humor of the Guardians. When needed, Domhnall Gleeson has a vulnerable quality to his acting that could make Adam Warlock more three-dimensional.

3. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau

Adam Warlock

– When looking online for casting suggestions, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s name came up often. Fans are familiar with his layered performance as Jaime Lannister on ‘Game Of Thrones‘ so he’s fresh on people’s minds. Though his age can hurt his chances of landing a long-term franchise deal, that’s a little hurdle to overcome for this role. No matter how the MCU wants to portray Adam Warlock, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau can do it all.

2. Mahershala Ali

Adam Warlock

– Some questioned my choice of Mahershala Ali as Adam Warlock simply based on his race. Add the fact he can easily be painted gold like The Sovereign in ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2‘, Mahershala Ali has everything for this role. If asked to be cold and robotic, he can. If needing to be charming, his personality shines. Ali’s physique is superb, which is a must for this role, and that smile can light up a room.

1. Dan Stevens

Adam Warlock

– Another actor familiar with Disney, playing Beast in 2017’s ‘Beauty and the Beast‘ has opened many doors for Dan Stevens. Seems like the next thing to do on the Hollywood checklist is join a major superhero film franchise. What better place to start than the MCU? Dan Stevens seems a creation made just for the role of Adam Warlock. Those blue eyes can pierce your soul, as well as his intense acting style.

What do you think of my choices?

  1. Oh I like the Scott Eastwood idea. Love Dohmnall.
I would agree with Dan Stevens, but he is already in the Marvel Universe as Legion (professor Xavier’s son by the way)

  2. I would choose Jamie Dornan, Luke Evans, Adam Driver, Jake Gyllenhaal, Eddie Redmayne or Dane DeHaan. Luke has the performance welk conpared to the hobbit, Jamie Dornan has the charm like christian grey for Adam, Eddie plays intelligent roles like stephen hawking and newt scamander, Adam has good visionairy to play Adam from his kylo ren role, Jake can relate to playing Adam from his disney role Dastan and Dane can play a good Adam as an antagonist and desrves a second chance since he’s not green goblin after spiderman joined mcu for younger main cast so dane can instead play Adam. I hope Adam Warlock gets in relationship with Gamora in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 3 to get Peter Quill/Star-Lord jealously angry and the two would have to fight each other compared to edward, jacob and bella romance in twilight saga.

  3. Only one man can play a “Golden God” and that is Glenn Howerton, he was originally up for the role of Starlord anyway, so it’d be great! 😀
