Paramount won a bidding war for the script, which was penned by Dacre Stoker and J.D. Barker. Dracul is the first Dracula prequel that has been authorised by the Stoker estate. Roy Lee and Barbara Muschietti, who both worked on IT will re-team with Muschietti for the project.
The article also offers a brief description of the prequel, which you can read below:
the tale is set in 1868, where a 21-year old Bram Stoker meets with an ungodly evil that he traps in an ancient tower all the while scribbling the events that led him there.
Reviews for Muschietti’s IT adaptation landed today and have been more than great, so it’s not surprising to hear that Paramount wants him for a Dracula prequel.
