Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is a good film to watch because getting back into the grind after the holiday siesta is a hard thing to do. The new year has just begun and aren’t you counting the days until your next holiday? This is the best film ever made to illustrate the joys of taking a ‘mental health’ day. Sometimes you just need to sit back and enjoy life and who can show you how to do that better than the John Hughes and his ‘Ferris’? No one can. So remember the holiday break fondly and dream of those days off long gone as you enjoy a ‘day off’ with Cameron (Alan Ruck), Sloan (Mia Sara), and Ferris (Matthew Broderick). With principle ducking, fancy car driving, and unnecessary dance numbers, how could a movie go wrong? This film is a laugh a minute.

Not all people remember the 1980s/1990s super rap duo Kid ‘n Play, but you should. With hits like Ain’t Gonna Hurt Nobody and Rollin’ With Kid n’ Play, this twosome – Christopher “Kid” Reid and Christopher “Play” Martin – parlayed their success as a musical act into a string of slapstick comedy films. House Party is the story of ‘Kid’ a high schooler who is being raised by his strict single-father (the late Robin Harris). His best-friend play invites him to a party at his house but he has been grounded due to a fight at school. Kid sneaks out of the house when his dad falls asleep and the hijinks are off and running. With bullies, sketchy cops, and a kicking soundtrack you can’t go wrong – see if you can spot Martin Lawrence.

When The Pit is threatened to be closed for policy violations and fines, Droz and his housemates Gutter (Jon Favreau), Mullaney (Alex Désert) and the gang must pull together to throw the mother of all ‘rent house parties” in order to save their home – check out George Clinton and P-Funk All-Stars as the make the party EPIC!
