5. Outcast

Image Comics has a brilliant library of horror titles, but Robert Kirkman and Paul Azaceta’s Outcast is in a league of its own. It’s the story of a man that’s been (reluctantly) fighting demons since childhood, but it’s truly much deeper than that. It’s a story of family, and of overcoming your own demons to do good. There’s one element that sets apart horror from great horror. That’s character development, and Outcast has it in spades.
