‘Injustice 2’ Has So Many Character Choices But Only So Much Roster Space
The hype became real when the first trailer for ‘Injustice 2‘ was released this week.
Our first glimpse at the game promises stunning visual effects and intriguing character designs. With the trailer also came confirmation for returning characters Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and The Flash as well as new characters like Supergirl, Atrocitus, and Grodd.
DC has a massively expansive universe with near endless choices. Also the previous game showed they can borrow characters from other franchises.
But which characters that missed the first round of fighting should make it the new ‘Injustice’ game? Below are my top 4 fighter choices!
4. Swamp Thing
–Swamp Thing has to be one of the most underrated characters in all of DC mythos. He’s a unique hero with some wild nature based powers. Seeing him in ‘Injustice 2‘ would be an amazing fan service and provide an interesting fighter.
3. Black Canary -The first ‘Injustice‘ game was stacked with awesome female fighters but sadly missing was Black Canary. Her skills in hand-to-hand combat is on-par with Batman and her sonic scream is similar to Sindel in ‘Mortal Kombat‘.
2. Reverse Flash
-How did Eobard Thawne not make into the first game? The Flash’s main villain is such a key member of the Rogues gallery as well as being one of the best speedsters ever. The fights between Flash & Reverse Flash would be epic.
1. Darkseid
-While he may be playable for mobile users of ‘Injustice‘, everyone should be able to play as the big bad Darkseid. With his brutal fighting style and Omega Beams, how awesome would it be to play as this overpowered monster!?

The Latest NXT Takeover Is The End Of The Beginning
The NXT Takeover PPV has been happening since 2014. After ‘The End’, it looks like they have finally taken over. A night filled with epic debuts and shocking wins, the future of NXT is looking even brighter than before.
Below are the top 5 moments from NXT Takeover: The End!
5. Former “La Sombra” Andrade “Cien” Almas Wins His Debut
Gif Source: totaldivasepisodes.tumblr.com
-Mexican superstar Andrade Almas has made a name for himself in Japan & Mexico. He can now add the USA on the list as he had a strong showing at Takeover. His match against Ty Dillinger was the perfect way to showcase his skills.
4. NEW NXT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS: The Revival!
–Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder have reclaimed their championship gold. Probably the most cerebral tag-team on the NXT roster, their rivalry with American Alpha has been great. It looks like ‘The End’ was also the end of the feud as a new team attacked Alpha after the match.
3. Shinsuke Nakamura Exists
-Nakamura is possibly the best Japanese import since Hello Kitty. I’ve personally been a fan of his work since his early days in NJPW so to see him at NXT is a blessing. At ‘The End’, he faced independent superstar Austin Aries in one brutal match. His win helps put him further up the rankings to an NXT Title match.
2. An Unstoppable Force Meets An Immovable Object
-Without a doubt, Asuka has to be one of the best wrestler on the entire WWE roster. She’s so quick and so brutal but also makes her opponents look so good. That’s what she did at ‘The End’; Asuka made Nia Jax look like the monster she needs to be. Glad to see Asuka retain her Women’s Championship as well.
1. NXT Has Their First Steel Cage Match
-We’ve seen ladder matches but NXT has never had a steel cage match till ‘The End’. The two competitors in the match were NXT Championship Samoa Joe and Finn Balor; two of the greatest wrestlers in the entire world. The action was back and forth but Joe walked away with the title. What’s next for the champion?
This will have spoilers to Flash: Rebirth, continue at your own discretion.
Synopsis:
The issue starts off with Barry Allen and a few other police officers attending to a gruesome crime scene similar to the murder of Barry Allen’s own mother. While the detectives state their assumption on who perpetrated the murder, Allen insists that they shouldn’t jump to conclusions just yet.
As Allen sees events of his own past that doesn’t remember he arrives to his father to try and figure out what these images mean. His father suspects that this is either the speed force effecting him, or Allen is simply overworking himself. Donning the uniform of his alter-ego the Flash, he begins his work protecting the people of Central City.
It’s at this point that we see a swift recap of the events DC Rebirth where Allen rescues Wally West from being dissolved into the speed force. Following a quick discussion on how much has been altered by a certain naked omnipotent reject from Blue Man Group, Flash decides to visit Batman, who is already working on figuring out why the Comedian’s bloodied smiling button is in his cave.
Both men decide to keep this information to themselves until they get further answers, and the Flash races past the murder scene earlier in the issue, where he over hears (I think) the detectives talking about how they were right on their assumption, and that Allen is sometimes wrong.
Thoughts:
For a single issue story this wasn’t too bad. Dialogue was enjoyable and no one went poured purple prose on the other. I was hoping to have more development on what occurred in Geoff John’s Rebirth. It was nice to see that this was not going to be a story point that was dropped as soon as it was introduced. But it would’ve nice to see Batman and Flash do something more than a glorified “You too!”
This was a problem with Marvel’s recent Avenger’s Standoff, in that the prologue and first chapter were essentially the same story, this was not the case for Rebirth and The Flash: Rebirth. We just didn’t get that much more in moving the Rebirth narrative forward. Though the story was a bit lacking in regards to the greater Rebirth story arc, this was a well written single issue story for the Scarlet Speedster.
Artwork was fantastic, particularly the use of the speed force when either Wally West or Barry Allen were on the move. And the use of color in the issue was in top form as well.
I also thought the memorium to Darwyn Cooke at the end was an excellent tribute someone who knew the value of these heroes.
Al Pacino and Anthony Hopkins are in a new legal thriller called Misconduct. It also stars Julia Styles, Malin Akerman, and Josh Duhamel. Solid star power, and two legends lead this film about a shady pharmaceutical exec (Hopkins) being investigated by a lawyer (Duhamel). All manner of suspenseful hijinks ensue.
So here we have what can be considered an all-star cast in a legal thriller, at least enough to interest a handful of people. Misconduct was released in the UK this weekend, and apparently a handful of people couldn’t be bothered. Because the film brought in $141.
That’s seven $20 bills. That’s literally one person per screen, since Misconduct was released in five theaters. So this film, with these titans of the craft, drew one lone, curious human being to each theater. Or what’s worse, what if seven people went to one screening, and the other four theaters played this film to empty seats for an entire weekend?
Domestically, Misconduct brought in a whopping fifteen grand, so it’s inching ever so closer to its $15 million budget. How is this possible? If I were bored on a Sunday afternoon and an Al Pacino movie was at my local theater, I would probably check it out. And let’s say in the entire population of the UK, there were ten other people who thought that same thing. But there wasn’t. Sure, it’s sitting at 8% over at Rotten Tomatoes, but that’s happened plenty in the past for films with far fewer stars. They at least brought in a mill.
It’s the year 2011 and Corelia blesses us all with their “Nostalgia” EP release. In comparison to what was being released that year, it was simply a fresh of breath air and pure talent. The combination of their intricate and groovy instrumentals along with the genius clash of the brutal vocals and the soulful, spine tingling clean vocals was a contagious cult hit in which rightfully started their passionate fandom.
Years go by as they continue to gain following to their progressive metal style of music in which fans are demanding a full length album or at the VERY LEAST a new track or hint that they are still in active band.
In 2015, Corelia fans thought their prayers were answered as the band releases an update video saying that they are working on a new album. Fans everywhere, (including myself) were beyond stoked and numerous backers started donating to their IndieGoGo fund for the new music.
So a year goes by and… still no album. Their IndieGoGo raised over $33,000 to fund the new 2015 release, along with preorders for various merchandise. Their original goal was only $15,000 in which was surpassed by 223% from all of their dedicated fans.
February 2016 rolls around and another announcement is made explaining that the writing phase is finished and laid out in which led them to a two-disc 90 minute full length album. In addition to this information they explain that they are still an unsigned band in which is prolonging the process.
We saw no substantial reason to rush out a debut LP or to subscribe to the label industry trend of releasing a persistent stream of albums when it was obvious to us that all future success of our band was going to be based around releasing records that live up to the highest quality of our artistic standards. We care very deeply about our vision and the music we create, and were thus intent on being veritably conscientious about our approach towards releasing new, evolved material with the understanding that it would undoubtedly spread on a much vaster scale upon a much more widely established foundation. So, we were determined to have our first full-length album be one with meaningful significance.
All that is left for us to do now is to enter the studio, record the material with some professionals backing us, and have the new album released as soon as logistically possible. We have a solid chunk of investment that we’ll be needing for this release already saved up, but as an independent band, we welcome the support of our fans to invest in the recording, mixing, mastering of the album, visual artist payment, and manufacturing costs. Each contribution will be put towards making this release as great as possible. Virtually all revenue generated by Corelia up to this point has been reinvested back into the band, and any gains from this campaign that aren’t directly allocated towards the creation of the album will be further used to advance our vision by way of funding music videos.
Although all of this news is fantastic, it’s now June and no further updates were given by the band after that February update. Seriously! Nothing on their Facebook, Twitter or Instagram. It’s as if they dropped off the face of the earth after that post. I mean without being on a label, I sincerely don’t see what the hold up is on providing the fans with mini snippets or hints at what things are going to sound like. There are many unsigned local bands who don’t have that sort of support whatsoever, yet can dish out a teaser here and there.
And what’s incredible to me is the complete patience the fans are maintaining throughout this whole process. Many are still writing to their Facebook page with no answers, yet only a few are actually bad mouthing the band in this whole process. Although I sincerely want this album to come out, the lack of updates are starting to concern me as a fan. It would be just a real shame if the album never gets produced and furthering the detriment within the withering metal community. I still have faith in which I would like to believe genuine talent will always prevail, but I can only hold my breath for so long..
To call this one-minute trailer for The Greasy Strangler NSFW might be overlooking the fact that you probably don’t want to watch it around our parents, your significant other, and definitely not your kids. You might draw the curtains and close the door and put earbuds in before hitting play.
I’m not entirely sure who this movie and this trailer are safe for, but whatever the case may be this looks like the weirdest, most bizarrely perverted and warped movie since the B-movie shlock of the 80s. Only this one has male fun-frontal nudity, so even the late 80s would probably blush at the site of this.
Here’s the trailer. And it’s NSFW, in case that was unclear:
So what the hell is this? Beats me. Looks like the one guy’s dad is a killer, but this John Waters gone mad midnight flick certainly appears to be less about plot and more about incredible shocks. It did debut at Sundance this year so, you know, it’s prestigious.
I seriously doubt The Greasy Strangler will be in a theater near you anytime soon. But for any fan of the… genre?… this looks like it’s definitely worth checking out. I’d love to hear what Joe Bob Briggs has to say about this one.
Duncan Jones Tries So Hard To Please Fans Of ‘Warcraft‘ And Newcomers Alike.
Admittedly, I know very little about the ‘Warcraft’ universe. Usually if you know anything about the fantasy genre, you can roughly piece together an idea of what’s going on. The film adaptation of the massive online game is still so deeply rooted in source material that it’s basically too much to take in.
Filmmaker Duncan Jones was a handed an expansive universe from gaming company Blizzard after years of developmental hell. Amidst the craziest years of his personal life, Jones attempted to take this established universe & re-invent the story…all while staying true to all the crazy worlds/names/creatures. This would be a daunting task for even the most refined filmmaker but with only two major films under his belt, I think Duncan Jones got lost somewhere along the way.
With a budget of roughly $100 million more than his previous film ‘Source Code‘, Jones could have made an intriguing film but ‘Warcraft‘ has too much working against it. At times, the visual effects became so laughable. When the practical and CG blended it seemed like something out of an 80’s kid’s movie. The script was filled with bland lines that you can find in any medieval film but then would switch to a modern way of speaking for the sake of a punchline.
The fighting had no significance as well. This movie could have served from even more fight scenes. Maybe they want to build it like ‘Lord Of The Rings‘ did but for a film with war in its name, there wasn’t a whole lot. Also, I can’t forget to mention some of the choreography being so bad that you could actually see the actors slow down as they hit the green screen props.
On the other hand, the orc designs were all detailed & very unique. From tusk to skin-tone, almost every orc looked different. During close-ups, you could see great details in their face and bodies. With some bad effects, sometimes they’d get something right like orcs or the game-accurate mage spells.
I also appreciate the fact Jones took the original script and made changes to the dynamic between orcs and humans. While there was an overall war happening, each side had some drama going on within their own circle.
‘Warcraft‘ is being described as a long commercial for a cell-phone game or this generation’s ‘Battlefield Earth‘ but it’s really not that bad. There’s some real potential here but sadly, most will never see that. Obviously the filmmakers thought they were gonna get a sequel so let’s see if another film can redeem this brand.
NXT, the developmental brand of World Wrestling Entertainment has become a powerhouse. Spun out of a semi-reality show and the previous developmental system, then known as Florida Championship Wrestling, NXT has cemented itself as one of the WWE’s top brands. In 2014, NXT presented the first of what are now quarterly live specials on the WWE Network. These specials, along with the weekly NXT show have made NXT a fertile training ground for future WWE Superstars and a platform for stars of the independent and international scene. Tonight’s special ‘NXT TakeOver: The End’ is no different and looks to be another stellar show. All 3 NXT titles will be on the line tonight along with a debut of an international superstar.
Andrade “Cien” Almas vs. Tye Dillinger
Andrade “Cien” Almas photo: CMLL
CMLL and NJPW star La Sombra will be making his NXT television debut with a new name and new look against NXT hand Tye Dillinger. Almas has been a professional wrestler since 14. He has competed against Mexican legends Mr. Aguila and Mistico, and has even gone toe to toe with Shinsuke Nakamura. Tye Dillinger has carved out a niche for himself as an enhancement talent and reasonably entertaining foil on NXT.
Prediction: Andrade gets a chance to show the NXT crowd what he is capable of and comes away with the win.
American Alpha (champions) vs. The Revival – NXT Tag Team Championship
American Alpha vs The Revival photo: WWE
At NXT TakeOver: Dallas, the on fire team of Jason Jordan and Chad Gable captured the tag titles from a hard hitting team of Dash and Dawson. It was a culmination of a long journey for Jason Jordan, who had been struggling to find his place, having been in NXT for a number of years. Teaming with Chad Gable reinvigorated Jordan and the two went on a tear, rolling through every tag team NXT could throw at them. The Revival and their ‘No Flips, Just Fists’ mantra served them well in capturing the gold, but couldn’t hold on to them when American Alpha came calling.
Prediction: Alpha retains in a phyiscal and high impact match, expect a great show from both teams.
Asuka (champion) vs. Nia Jax – NXT Women’s Championship
Asuka vs Nia Jax for the NXT Women’s Championship photo: WWE
Kill. Asuka. Kill. Japanese superstar Asuka made her NXT debut last fall. She is undefeated. She choked out Bayley at NXT TakeOver: Dallas to capture the NXT Women’s Championship. She is a force. She will face powerhouse Nia Jax, who won a triple threat match to become the #1 contender for the title. One of the frequent criticisms of women’s wrestling is that the performers “fight like girls”. That is not going to be case in this match. This is going to be a brutal match and it just may be the match of the night.
Prediction: Asuka retains, but she is going to have to work hard for it.
Austin Aries vs. Shinsuke Nakamura
Austin Aries vs Shinsuke Nakamura photo: WWE
The Greatest Man That Ever Lived takes on the King Of Strong Style. Both Aries and Nakamura made their NXT debuts this year, after illustrious careers in other promotions and on the international scene. This match will have showmanship, high impact, and plenty of theater. Easily a ‘Match Of The Year’ candidate if both men bring their ‘A game’, which they most definitely will.
Prediction: Knock down drag out great match, but a double DQ so both men look good coming out of it.
Samoa Joe (champion) vs. Finn Balor – NXT Championship
Samoa Joe defends the NXT Title against Finn Balor photo: WWE
Samoa Joe and Finn Balor have spent the better part of the last 6 months beating each other into paste and Joe was finally able to keep Balor down to claim the NXT gold at NXT TakeOver: Dallas in April. This title match will be different as it will be the first time the NXT title will be defended in a steel cage, but both men have competed in a number of cage matches in various promotions prior to their arrivals in NXT.
Prediction: Finn Balor regains the title, but he’s going to be feeling it for some time after

NXT TakeOver: The End airs Wednesday June 8 @ 8pm exclusively on the WWE Network
