Some exclusive set photos from Spider-Man Homecoming have recently been dropped on Twitter, via @abouttomholland. These photos reveal what looks to the villainous Shocker. See for yourself down below.
It was a controversial choice for the DC Extended Universe to re-cast characters that were already appearing on television. Fans reacted with amaze and anger when they learned that Ezra Miller would play Barry Allen in the DCEU instead of TV star Grant Gustin. This decision has been given a lot of flack from both the public, and stars of shows like Arrow and The Flash.
“I Do Not Have A Right To Oliver Queen…”
During a panel at Salt Lake City Comic-Con, Arrow star Stephen Amell discussed the DCEU, and his opinion might surprise a lot of fans. Amell in the past criticized Warner Bros. for announcing Ezra Miller’s casting of The Flash. Not because he thinks Gustin should have been given the role, simply because it was bad timing. Speaking here it seems the Arrow star is a lot more comfortable with the DCEU than we have previously heard.
“Again, I just thought the timing of the Flash film casting was less than appropriate. I do not have a right to Oliver Queen. Someone played it before me, someone voiced it before me, somebody will play him after me. I don’t believe there are plans for Oliver Queen in the DCEU, based on things people have told me. But I would not be upset if that changed at all.”
“I Think The Television Universe Has Done Just Fine For Itself.”
Amell then went on to discuss the DC Television Universe, specifically talking about how they keep the two universes separate. The actor also makes sure to tell fans that there is no war between the TV and movie sides of DC Comics.
“That’s not how that works. Diane Nelson, Geoff Johns, the people at WB on the features side, the people at WB on the TV side are all in the business of making the best products for the fans. Diane Nelson sent me a very, very eloquent email explanation as to why they thought the cinematic universe and the television universe should remain separate, and it made perfect sense to me… Look, there is no in-fighting, there is no war between the two factions. It’s all a collaborative effort and in the grand scheme of things, I think that the television universe has done just fine for itself.”
Do you wish the DC Extended Universe and Television Universe existed in the same world? Are you glad to hear that there is no conflict between DCTV and DC movies? Be sure to let us know in the comments section below.
Stan Lee has appeared in nearly every Marvel movie, and now he’s set to appear in three more, Yahoo! Movies UK reports.
While in Toronto for Fan Expo Canada, 93-year-old Lee appeared on the morning show Breakfast Television.
It was during this appearance the comic book creator confirmed he will have cameos in upcoming films Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming.
Watch the entire interview below.
Lee also revealed that he has very little say when it comes to the types of cameos.
“Oh no no, they decide. If I was deciding, it would be a half hour role.”
A Stan Lee cameo is an added bonus for the Marvel films and fans always look forward to one.
The next chance to catch Lee will be November 4 when Doctor Strange arrives in theaters.
He also bears a striking resemblance to another droid. R2-D2 anyone?
The Star Wars Show would only offer this small detail about C2-B5:
The Galactic Empire relies on Astromech droids to maintain its machinery. But unlike the Rebel Alliance, Imperial technicians do not grant their droids independence and subject them to frequent memory wipes to keep them subservient.
It’s unclear how big of a part the Imperial droid will play in the upcoming film.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story hits theaters December 16.
Oh brother. It was a pretty bad week for the first new releases of September. Labor Day weekend isn’t known to draw huge crowds, but none of the newbies could draw the attention their respective studios wanted. But worse than that, one new release in particular did especially bad — even by the standards established this summer.
I’m talking about Morgan, the directorial debut of Luke Scott, son of producer Ridley Scott, which failed to make it into the top 10. It opened in 18th place (ouch!) to an extremely weak $1.86 million, which is the seventh worst wide opening ever, i.e. for a movie in 2,000-plus theaters. Yes, we’re talking Delgo territory folks. Yikes.
This sci-fi failure is going to disappear quick. Hell, I wouldn’t be surprised if it drops out of theaters almost entirely by this time next weekend. The latest from 20th Century Fox was a mere $6 million production, so it’s not a gigantic flop. But it’s going to have some serious trouble making back that limited budget. Let’s say goodbye to Morgan once-and-for-all. We hardly knew thee, though we barely wanted to.
Also failing to impress was The Light Between Oceans, the newest film from Derek Cianfrance (Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines), which came in sixth place with $5 million. With a budget of $20 million, it’s going to be an uphill struggle. The film was met with mixed-to-positive reviews, though, and it does have award-favorites like Michael Fassbender, Alicia Vikander and Rachel Weisz in its corner. But it’s safe to write this one off as a flop too, unless it has some serious legs these next few weeks.
But hey, if Suicide Squad can have some legs, then maybe The Light Between Oceans can make a comeback too? The anti-superhero film was the number two movie of the weekend, coming in at $10 million during its fifth weekend in theaters. I’m going to avoid any snark or crass comments at this point. If people are seeing this movie, then they’re seeing the movie. What am I going to do about it? I just hope they’re enjoying themselves. Its $297.4 million total is good fuel for those fighting the good fight.
None of these films made it to number one, though. What did come in first place was Don’t Breathe, returning to the number one spot for the second weekend in-a-row. That’s the first time a horror film scored back-to-back number one spots since Ouija in 2014. Thankfully, Fede Alvarez’s latest is a much better film. With $51.1 million earned domestically, this one is definitely a hit for Sony, and a well deserved one.
It’s one of the most entertaining films in a disappointing season, and I’m glad to see it holding its own. I wish I could say the same for Kubo and the Two Strings, which came in fourth place with $6.5 million earned to its $34.3 million total.
Rounding out the weekend, Bad Moms crossed the $100 million mark as it came in seventh place and Pete’s Dragon is close to its $65 million budget as it holds $64.2 million during its fourth weekend. Meanwhile, Hell or High Water continues to expand and it worked its way into the top ten in the number nine spot, collecting $4.5 million. It’s only fitting to see the bank robbing drama steal its way to the top.
The Flash Season 3 is roughly a month away, and the Flashpoint Paradox will begin to roll out, but before fans dive into the next season, Comicbook reports that a deleted scene from The Flash Season 2 just dropped.
Jay and Caitlin had the running romantic portmanteau of a moniker SnowJay, and captured the more romantic storyline loving fans, hoping for something meaningful between them. For those still holding out, hope against hope, here is a deleted date scene for SnowJay.
Entertainment Weekly posted that video for your perusal of The Flash Season 2 deleted scene here.
Caitlin and faux Jay Garrick are seen in a coffeehouse scene, sharing a coffee at Jitters. Jay Garrick (Faux Jay) lets fans know it is a date, by essentially calling it as such, and delivering a romantic line to set the mood.
“You know, you don’t get too many coffee dates when you only know five people in the universe. This world also has a lot mine doesn’t – a lot of beauty to offer.”
The Flash fans who share an everlasting fondness for SnowJay will surely have their hearts melt.
However, The Flash Season 2 is over, that wasn’t the real Jay Garrick, and Season 3 is almost upon the fans who are likely eagerly awaiting it.
The Flash Season 3 is all about the Flashpoint Paradox. That, of course, fans already know. However, according to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, there is a deeper theme to Season 3 that underlies the whole thing.
“One of the themes is what does it mean to have power, what you do with that power, and is power ultimately corrupting?”
“Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely,” as Lord John Acton would say, and that is a 17th century quote. So, the theme Kreisberg is touching on in The Flash Season 3 is nothing new, but how it plays out through the comic book TV adaptation medium is yet to be seen.
Some would argue that the best of the TV show Mythbusters was the work done by the design team. As the series was wrapping up, the M7 Build Team was dismissed, but now the team is coming back. The M7 Build Team is headed to Netflix to star in a show that will highlight the dark corners of science.
An announcement was made at Dragoncon during a panel late Saturday. The show will be entitled The White Rabbit Project and will focus on the team searching the internet for topics and experiments to attempt. The new series will star- Grant Imahara, Tory Belleci, and Kari Byron.
At the panel, a clip was shown of Byron and Belluci enjoying some wine with their meal while Imahara attempted to control them using electronic muscle stimulation. The series is set to debut in December and is slated for ten episodes. I know that I can’t wait till it starts.
The first official image of Robby Reyes (Gabriel Luna) in the upcoming Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season has been released, via Entertainment Weekly.
Also noteworthy, the first episode is titled The Ghost, which will undoubtedly include our first look at Ghost Rider himself.
“Robbie Reyes (Gabriel Luna) will roar into the lives of Agent Coulson and the team as a junkyard mechanic who can turn on a dime into the terrifying Ghost Rider. Will Robbie be a friend or foe to S.H.I.E.L.D. – as well as the world, itself? Meanwhile, Fitz discovers that socially awkward genius and friend Dr. Radcliffe (John Hannah) has started putting the finishing touches on a new, secret invention.”
Rick puts together a plan that includes giving the Saviors the head of Gregory, the leader of the Hilltop. Rick doesn’t actually kill Gregory. Instead, the people of Alexandria look for a zombie that looks like Gregory. The group finds three heads. One of the three heads looks like Johnny Depp as James ‘Whitey’ Bulger in ‘Black Mass.’
The executive producer and episode director Greg Nicotero confirmed the prop was a replica of Depp in an interview with EW after the episode aired.
“One of the other heads, I don’t know if I’m going to get in trouble if I say this, was Johnny Depp. I think we had sculpted an emaciated version of a dummy head for something, and we used Johnny Depp’s head as a basis just for a clay sculpt,” said Nicotero.
Now it appears that Norman Reedus has the Johnny Depp severed head in his dressing room.
“Norman kept saying he wanted the heads when we were done shooting. I said we’ve got to wait until the picture is logged,” said Nicotero.
‘The Walking Dead’ returns to AMC for its seventh season on October 23.
