‘The Mist’ – Meet The Characters

‘The Mist’ will descend upon Bridgeville this evening for the first time. In preparation for the ten episode season, Spike TV have released a library of character videos.

‘The Mist’ will focus on the small town of Bridgeville who must survive the horrors lurking in the mist. Drawing inspiration from the Stephen King novella and 2007 movie of the same name, the series will focus on larger events in Bridgeville rather than a retelling of the movie.

The Characters

Alyssa Sutherland  has the following to say of her character “She’s willing to do whatever she needs to do.” Eve is an overprotective mother, who’s concerned her daughter will repeat her past mistakes. She is disliked by the majority of the town for a sex education class at the local school. Stranded in the shopping center with her daughter, Eve will be forced to make hard decisions to keep those close to her safe.

<

Kevin Copeland

A devoted father and husband, Kevin will be separated from his family when the mist descends.  A former journalist, Kevin has one goal only – find and protect his family. Morgan Spector warns, “there isn’t anything he wouldn’t give to get to them.”

Nathalie Raven

Frances Conroy will be breathing life into the mysterious Nathalie Raven. A nature-loving woman who is a neighbor to the Copeland’s. When the mist rolls into Bridgeville, she will seek solace in the church. She believes that nature has turned on humanity and released the malevolent mist into town.

Adrian Garft

Town misfit and close friend to Alex Copeland (Gus Birney). He see’s Kevin as the father he’s always wanted and is stranded with him at the start of the show. Russel Posner has the following to say about Adrian, “He’s at home in the chaos.”.

Bryan Hunt

Okezie Morro will play amnesic solder Bryan Hunt. “He needs something to hold onto” Okezie says of his character. The trailer doesn’t go into a lot of depth about Brian, but considering the links to the military from the novella and movie, it’ll be interesting to see how his story plays out.

Gus Bradley

Isiah Whitlock Jr will be playing Gus Bradley. Mall manager, he will be trapped with  Eve and her daughter. Seizing upon the opportunity to rule it appears that Gus will rule the mall with a strict rule code – which doesn’t appear to go down well with Eve.

With all the promo’s and an unforgettable movie to build upon ‘The Mist’ looks like a promising series. As a fan of both the novella and film, I’m going to look forward to seeing how Christian Torpe builds on the mythos laid down by Frank Darabon.
