Deadline is reporting that Patrick Wilson (Watchmen) has been cast in James Wan’s solo Aquaman movie as Orm.
Orm also known as Ocean Master is the evil half-brother of Arthur Curry and competition for the throne of Atlantis. Wilson previously worked with director James Wan on The Conjuring 2 which was a critical and financial success, so it’s great to see this partnership continue.
Aquaman will be the seventh film in the DC Extended Universe and will see Jason Momoa step back into the role. The character had a small cameo in Batman v Superman but will have a much larger role in next year’s Justice League before Wan’s solo movie.
Aquaman also stars Amber Heard (The Danish Girl) as Mera and Willem Dafoe (Spider-Man) as Nuidis Vulko. The film recently received a new release date from Warner Bros. and will land in theaters on October 5, 2018. Jason Momoa will star alongside Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Ray Fisher and Ezra Miller in Justice League.
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
