Apollo City Comics Launches Kickstarter for FAKE YOUR DEATH, a Punk Rock Sci-Fi Comic About Four Runaways Racing to Stop a Corporate Apocalypse

Indie publisher Apollo City Comics has launched a Kickstarter campaign for FAKE YOUR DEATH, the first entry in a three-part comic book series from writer Brandon Bloxdorf, artist Chyna Rosemarea, and designer/letterer Max Flowers. The campaign is live now at kickstarter.com/projects/apollocitycomics/fake-your-death-act-one.
FAKE YOUR DEATH is a magazine-sized, ~70-page book that follows four runaways — Justine, Diamond, Nick, and Shelly — brought together by a series of traumatic events on the night the world changes forever. When the media conglomerate BROADCAST I.N.G. drops bombs across the country not to kill, but to manipulate the thought patterns of consumers, the four strangers discover they may be the only ones standing between humanity and a corporate-controlled future.
“Act One” traces the individual breaking points that lead each character to the others, setting the stage for a story about found family, resistance, and what’s left of free will in a world engineered by advertising.
About the Creative Team
Brandon Bloxdorf is the founder, CEO, and Editor-in-Chief of Apollo City Comics, as well as a writer and artist in his own right. Since launching Apollo City Comics, he has produced more than 30 books through the imprint and works with Kickstarter and Prana Direct Market Solutions to help other independent creators find success in comics.
Chyna Rosemarea is the artist behind FAKE YOUR DEATH. Her work has appeared in three Apollo City Comics anthologies, and she was a nominee for the first annual Zelda Awards. Outside of comics, she works as a freelance pet portrait artist, a scenic artist for projects at Epic Universe and Disney, and creates across mediums including sculpture, woodworking, printmaking, and jewelry.
Max Flowers, the creative design lead of Apollo City Comics, served as designer and letterer on FAKE YOUR DEATH. Flowers is also an illustrator and comic creator in their own right, with credits including BUBBLES, The Family Man, and Corpse Paint, and runs the independent art shop MURDER OF MAGPIES.

About Apollo City Comics
Founded in the summer of 2023, Apollo City Comics is an independent publishing imprint built around emotionally charged punk rock, sci-fi, stoner, and political comic book anthologies and series.
