The Flash season 2 will be returning October 6, but many fans of the CW/DC Comics scarlet speedster are having a hard time waiting for the next season. This makes sense, since The Flash ended with a massive cliff hanger that many have been dying to climb and find out just where it is going. Comicbook reports that DC Comics Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns just dropped a hint or the flash’s fans who are starved for any kind of information on what to expect in season 2.
“There are a lot of new characters coming in, not just the ones that have been leaked online. And they all will challenge relationships, in good and bad ways.”
It is likely that at least some of the flash’s new characters will include Vibe and Killer Frost, who the Flash fans currently know as Caitlin Snow and Cisco Ramon. The Inquisitr reported on these confirmations in May.
Producer Andrew Kreisberg seemingly just confirmed that the Reverse-Flash will return. In an interview with KpopStarz, Kreisberg again confirmed that Tom Cavanaugh will return, but claimed he would not say anymore, until he did say more.
“What’s wonderful about it is now it allows us to have two tremendously talented actors both playing the same villain. When the Reverse Flash returns, the face that’s underneath the hood can be one of two faces now.”

The Flash season 2 might also be seeing a Smallville character popping up on the show as well. According to Latino Review, Superman actor Tom Welling might be showing up in his red and blue tights on the flash’s second season. Which most fans might see as odd because the Flash, thus far, will not be crossing over with CBS’s Supergirl.
Also, the fact that someone different played the Flash on Smallville, and someone different in playing Superman in the DC cinematic universe. Lest we forget, as Monkeys Fighting Robots previously reported, that a new big bad is on its way.
The Flash producer Andrew Kreisberg also just tweeted yesterday that the second season filming is underway, Comicbook also reports, so fans have an awful lot to gnaw on for the next few months. Not to mention, it is still four months away.
