Review: ‘Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable’: Episodes 22 & 23

Yoshikage Kira Just Wants To Live Quietly, Part 2

After so many episodes of more comical characters having adventures, things go very bad, very fast. Kira, in an effort to ensure Shiguchi doesn’t blab, Kira makes full use of his Stands distinct power. It turns out it has the ability to turn whatever it touches into a bomb.

Later, the characters come together to reflect on what has happened. Its obvious they can’t simply go back to the light hearted episodes after what has occurred. Instead they will have to face Kira head on and get back into the intense action of previous Jojo’s season.

With Kira now so close to the team there is a chance the remaining episodes could be centered around taking him down. There is also a chance not everyone is going to make it out of this.

Heart Attack, Part 1

This episodes features Jotaro and Koichi dealing with one of Deadly Queen’s abilities, The Sheer Heart Attack (Yes, the subtitles decided to drop the first word in the attack because it’s a reference to a Queen album). Durable is an understatement. This thing is able take a beating and keep on coming.

After trying to take Kira on his own, Koichi soon realizes just how outmatched he is. You’d think after watching Jotaro have difficulty dealing with only a single attack of Deadly Queen and even has to employ his ability to stop time in an effort to stop it. Still, there is is a chance Koichi may just find a way to prove his worth.

Things are definitely brutal and tense once again. Now all they need to do is make sure they keep the quality at this level. It may involve someone dying to keep it at this pace for the remainder of the season.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable is streaming on Crunchyroll.
