Review: ‘Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable’: Episode 14

Let’s go to the Manga Artist’s House, part 1

This week’s episode of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure features a manga artist. As always, with any series based on a manga features an episode where a creator of the media appears it serves as means for said creator to show the eccentric behavior they can’t do in real life. In this case though, eccentric is an understatement.

Koichi and Hazamada go to a manga creator they admire named Rohan Kishibe. Wouldn’t you know it, he turns out to be a Stand user. His Stand, Heaven’s Door, peels people apart like books so he can learn a person’s darkest secrets. It’s a very unpleasant sight to see. Still, compared with some of the other Stands the antagonists have had this season such The Lock or Show Off, this one showcases its purpose, use, and effectiveness as a tool all in one episode. With any luck their might just be more to Rohan’s abilities than what he has displayed so far.

Despite his disturbing abilities, this new character and his motivation is interesting and hopefully hew I’ll be sticking around a bit more than previously introduced characters. It’s the first episode of two part storyline so Rohan will at least be back in the next episode.

Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Diamond is Unbreakable is streaming on Crunchyroll.
