‘The Flash’ Season 2 Update: Barry Allen Will Have A Brand New Love Next Season, But What About Iris?

Monkeys Fighting Robots

The Flash was many things in season 1, but Barry Allen certainly was not known for his skills as a casanova, so it a new love interest may sound like a stretch. However, according to TV Line, that is just what the Flash season 2 will provide for Barry Allen. Allen, the real identity of the Flash, will be meeting Wendy as season 2 regular. She is described as a “spunky, fun and funny” love interest for the Flash. We have been told to expect a Felcity-like character.

Though, for anyone who followed the Flash season 1, Iris West will one day become Iris West-Allen in the future. This was according to Gideon, the AI that Reverse-Flash utilized to review any affects his past decision had on the future. So, it certainly seems a little curious that the Flash will presumably not start dating his future hyphenated wife, but it is a bit too early to get too deep into a season that is five months away.

For any the Flash’s fans who have no clue who Wendy is, Comic Book Resources gives us some theories. First of all, similar to the Dr. Harrison Wells character was in the first season of the flash, Wendy will be for season 2 of the flash.

In DC Comics, but not necessarily the Flash comics, there is a character named Wendy Harris. Wendy was a sidekick of the Superfriends, which involved with flash’s justice league compatriots. Later, she became the protégé of Batgirl, and become the DC character Proxy.

As far as a new love interest for the Flash, that seems too often the beaten trail, as Batgirl and all of that has not been introduce to this DC / CW TV universe yet. In the New 52 storyline for the Flash there is however a lab assistant for the Central City Police Department named Patty, who happens to be a love interest for the Flash. It gets confusing, but only if you drag all of the Flash or other DC Comics into it.

For now the Flash TV show fans will just have to wait, and hope this romance fades like the journalist love interest, West-Allen can re-chart its course in season 2.

Sense8 does not suck! Episode 3 Thoughts

Monkeys Fighting Robots

Sense8 does not suck anymore… At least for now. I’m still not completely won over but it sure has gotten better. But this episode was really good and I wanna go through the synopsis real fast to get to what I liked about this episode and how it reinvigorated my interest in this show.

Capheus Zebra

Capheus talks about how he wants to be a zebra so he won’t have to worry about the hardships of life. He then goes with his friend to haggle some better quality Aids Medicine for his mom. His friend is the best hustler in the world! They go to a bad neighborhood to try to get more business for their bus when it gets robbed and they end up stealing the AID’s medicine. Knowing he most likely can’t stand up to the thieves he goes anyway. His best friend offers to come with him but Capheus denies his help unable to risk his friend’s life. Once he rams into the thieves with the bus he uses his sensate abilities to tap into Sun and Will to deal with the thieves. He doesn’t get al of them but he gets most of them and his moms medicine back.

Sun is waiting for her dad’s call all day until she says “Fuck it!” and leaves the business. But not before leaving a huge hole in the secretaries desk, with her fist. She goes back to her old master (aka Mr. Miyagi) and resumes her underground boxing career. It’s here where she links with Capheus and helps him fight off the people who stole his moms medicine.

Sense8 Mr Miyagi

Nomi is now being held captive in the hospital. And after hearing from Jonas that they intend to lobotomize her she is more terrified than ever. But she really can’t do anything about it. She is on the operating table when there is a fire in the hospital. The procedure is halted and they return her to her room. She figures it is her girlfriend who said she would “Burn this hospital down before they touch that beautiful brain of yours.”

Sense8 Nomi lobotomy

Kala goes back to work even though her wedding is in two days and is in meeting about counterfeit drugs and how they are extremely harmful.

Riley throws away all her drugs and tries to start a new slate. Until she meets up with some old friends who are texting her to do drugs. Saying its the only way to deal with this fucked up world.

Wolfgang isn’t really in this episode.

Will looks through some suspicious papers and helps Capheus out with shooting at the robbers.

Sense8 Lito Mob

After figuring out an agreement with the woman who now knows Lito’s gay secret, he agree to continue the farce of dating her. But she reveals she is supposed to be engaged to a dangerous mob guy. Lito meets with him to try and clear the air but is held at knife point jokingly, and left with a very ominous threat.

So thats what happened, and it was a lot. They are finally starting to incorporate similar elements that span across different stories, and I really love that. It shows that these characters are connected by something more than their ability. It seems to me that there is all something they are lacking and by being sensates with one another they will hopefully be able to find strength and come to complete each other to the point where they won’t need to be sensate anymore. At least thats where I hope its going.

Cafes might be my favorite character. One because his story I think is the most compelling and because he is probably the only character with visible growth so far. It’s very intentional to start the episode with him talking about wanting to be a zebra. It shows that he’s had it with this life and doesn’t really want to fight for what it will take to be happy. He’s just willing to accept that fate for himself. But because he has his mom, he’s forced into action to not be a person who just sits by and doesn’t try. Because he loves her so much, he has to act. I really like it that a certain aspect of his character forces another aspect to come out that he didn’t really know was there. This is some damn good character writing!

As for the sensate ability itself, I’m still really confused on how it all works. The scene with Sun boxing while Capheus fights the robbers makes it seem like they were doing the same movements. But Sun was fighting one guy and Capheus was fighting like four. So it doesn’t really make sense that their moves would be the same. Also apparently they can look at each other and talk? This ability needs to be fleshed out more. Still little to no advance on the plot, but at least something happened where the ability was actually needed to effect one of the stories. So even though I seriously would like the plot to move faster, this was still an okay episode. So for now Sense8 does not suck, but we’ll see.

‘Constantine’ Star Matt Ryan Bows Out Gracefully From His NBC Show, Thanks #Save Constantine Fans For Their Support

Monkeys Fighting Robots

Constantine, the little NBC show that could, made a valiant effort to survive and Matt Ryan was certainly a big part of its success. Ryan, who played the titular character John Constantine, and show runner Daniel Cerone heavily participated in the Save Constantine Twitter campaign that sought to save the fledgling NBC series. Constantine producers searched far and wide for a replacement network after NBC stopped John Constantine’s show at 13 episodes, and subsequently canceled the DC / Vertigo Comics based show.

Constantine led Matt Ryan was mum for four days following the announcement of the John Constantine’s official demise, but a June 11 tweet show that he could not remain silent for much longer.

“Very disappointed that we are not continuing this journey, will miss playing john. You guys never gave up, I thank you all.”

Constantine fans, Matt Ryan, and Daniel Cerone held strong and pushed for the show to have a second season. The valiant effort ended June 7 with a long, heartfelt status update to Constantine fans, that required a Twitter functioned known as Twitlonger.

“I promised I’d share news when I had it — sadly, that news is not good. The cast and writers of Constantine are being released from their contracts. The studio tried to find a new home for the show, for which we’re forever grateful, but those efforts didn’t pan out. I’m sorry, I wasn’t provided any information on the attempts to sell the show elsewhere.”

So, Constantine’s journey into TV is dead and not being resurrected anytime soon, but that does not mean the demonologist and exorcist can not keep looking for the right spell to make it happen. As far as Constantine’s Matt Ryan, many consider him to be a frontrunner for John Constantine in Guillermo Del Toro’s Dark Universe, which is based of the DC Comics series Justice League Dark. Constantine: The Hellblazer just started up as well.

So, who knows what the future may bring, but until then, the Constantine FX company leaves you with these awesome behind the scenes videos.

Terry Gilliam’s ‘Don Quixote’ Movie Is Alive, Headed to Amazon

Monkeys Fighting Robots

Terry Gilliam’s vision of Don Quixote is still alive, and looks to be a heading to Amazon as part of a multi-picture deal Gilliam struck with the company.

In an interview with The Playlist, Gilliam said his version of the story, to be called The Man Who Killed Don Quixote, will begin filming in 2016. Amazon confirmed the news as well, so let’s hope the film will actually come to fruition this time.

“I’m intrigued by their [Amazon’s] way of doing it,” Gilliam told Playlist in the interview. “They go into the cinemas first and then a month or two afterwards they go into streaming. And I think that’s good because you get a chance to see it on the big screen, and yet I know that more people have seen my films on DVD than they have in the cinemas and that’s the reality of life now.”

Terry Gilliam has tried to make a Don Quixote film for about twenty years. Going back to the late 90s, Gilliam was actually in the middle of filming an adaptation starring Johnny Depp, but the project fell apart in epic fashion, so much so that the story of the film’s failure is more polar than the movie could ever imagine.

Gilliam Don Quixote

Gilliam has said Depp will not be involved this time around, but in a brilliant casting decision, he has recruited John Hurt to play Don Quixote. Jack O’Connell has also been cast in an unnamed role, possibly as Sancho.

Amazon signing Terry Gilliam to a movie deal is another bold move by the company, who has already recruited the likes of Spike Lee and Woody Allen. Also, along with this news of Terry Gilliam was the name Jim Jarmusch, who has signed his own Amazon deal. Amazon is steely moving up the ranks of an entertainment mecca for consumers, and hopefully The Man Who Killed Don Quixote will be the success Terry Gilliam always envisioned.
