The second Suicide Squad trailer has just been released, and it looks absolutely wonderful. That’s thanks in no small part to Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” permeating the soundtrack.
Enjoy:
Suicide Squad is directed by Ayer and stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flagg, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Oscar winner Jared Leto as the Joker, Jai Courtney as Boomerang, and Cara Delevingne as Enchantress.
The more we see of Suicide Squad, the better it’s getting. I officially cannot wait for August 5th.
The WWE Royal Rumble has been an important part of the ‘Road To Wrestlemania’ for decades now. Starting in 1988, The Rumble allowed many wrestlers on the card the chance to shine but it wasn’t until Hulk Hogan’s win in 1990 that the event became important to the Wrestlemania main event. Since Hogan’s back to back wins in 90/91, the winner of the Rumble has gone on to main event the biggest WWE show of the year. With the 2016 Royal Rumble only a few days away, which previous Royal Rumble winner has made the biggest splash following their win?
28 winners to choose from, here is who’s made the most out of their Rumble win!
10. Chris Benoit (2004)
-Let’s get the controversial Chris Benoit out of the way. While the events that happened in 2007 will never be forgiven, the legacy of Benoit as a wrestler can never be forgotten. His win of the 2004 Rumble launched such an amazing leg of his career; he headlined Wrestlemania XX against HHH and Shawn Michaels, he put over Randy Orton as a main eventer, and finally got rewarded for the years of playing his dues. While WWE may not accept this win anymore, this was a big deal at the time.
9. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin (1998)
-The only three time winner of The Royal Rumble, Stone Cold’s second win led to what many believe to be the kickoff of The Attitude Era. The night after this win was the introduction of Mike Tyson in WWE and led to Austin facing an injured Shawn Michaels in the main event of WrestleMania XIV; those moments are as important to WWE’s history as anything else. The landscape of WWE could have been very different if Austin never won this Rumble match. While his first Rumble win led to a memorable Submission match with Bret at Wrestlemania 13, this 1998 win was what I felt launched us into the Era of Austin.
8. The Undertaker (2007)
-A Royal Rumble win that came many years too late, The Undertaker’s 2007 Royal Rumble is just another milestone in his historic career. The real reason this win even ranks is because of the amazing sequence between Taker & Shawn Michaels as the final two! That little mini-match planted the seeds that would led to two amazing matches at Wrestlemania in 2009 & 2010. But that doesn’t mean Undertaker didn’t use his won properly. Following winning the Rumble, The Deadman went on to face Batista at Wrestlemania 23 in what I think is the best match of Batista’s entire career. Undertaker is also the first and only to win as the person to come out as Number 30 in the match.
7. Alberto Del Rio (2011)
-Alberto Del Rio had one of the best rookie careers in the history of WWE. Winning the only 40-Man Royal Rumble match, Del Rio had one hell of a 2011. He won the Rumble and faced off against Edge (in his last WWE match) at Mania of that year and then went on to win Money In The Back of July that year. As one of the best heels in the industry, Del Rio’s only Rumble win was unexpected at the time and was very refreshing in an otherwise stale time in the company’s history. Also, the storytelling as Del Rio faced off against Santino Marella as the final men in the match is still exciting to watch to this day.
6. Brock Lesnar (2003)
-Just like Del Rio’s Royal Rumble win help solidify his impressive rookie career, Brock’s 2003 Rumble win was part of an amazing first year in WWE. The youngest winner in the history of the event, Lesnar used this win to main event in an absolute classic against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania XIX and kept the title until he lost it to Kurt Angle in July of that year. While Brock didn’t need the win to prove how much of a monster he was, it surely helped remind everyone that Lesnar was a forced to be reckoned with. How will he fair as he enters this years Rumble for the first time since winning in 2003?
5. Rey Mysterio (2006)
-Coming in at Number 2, no one thought Rey was going to win the 2006 Royal Rumble. The ‘Ultimate Underdog’ proved everyone wrong when he lastly eliminated Randy Orton to secure the win. He dedicated this win to the late Eddie Guerrero and there is no doubt that Eddie would have been proud of his friend’s win. Not only did Rey go on to main event against Kurt Angle & Randy Orton at Wrestlemania 22, he would keep the title until The Great American Bash of that year! Rey survived the longest Rumble in history and secured his spot as one of the best Rumble winners ever.
4. HHH (2002)
-Don’t call it a comeback! Triple H returned in January of 2002 after an 8 month recovery and has never looked back since. The Game walked in the 15th annual Rumble with a mission and he succeeded at that mission. Eliminating Kurt Angle to win the match, HHH would go to Wrestlemania 18 looking to reclaim the gold he needed. While his win was soiled after by the usual McMahon family drama, it doesn’t change how HHH used the Rumble win to get right back into the swing of things; cementing himself as the backbone of the entire company for many years to come.
3. Shawn Michaels (1996)
-The Rumble that led to one of the best Mania main events in history. It’s the Rumble that led to the “boyhood dream” being achieved. It’s the Royal Rumble that made sure you knew Shawn Michaels was going to be a star. Following Michaels win at the 1996 Royal Rumble, the Show-Stopper would main even against Bret Hart in a jaw-dropping 60-minute Iron-Man match at Wrestlemania XII. The second straight Rumble win for Michaels, this win is without a doubt far superior to his first win; he used this Royal Rumble win to earn the title of ‘The Show Stopper”.
2. ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin (2001)
-If his 1998 win was the kickoff of ‘The Attitude Era’, this was the beginning of the end for the beloved era. I personally feel the 2001 Royal Rumble is one of the most entertaining in the event’s history. From Kane setting a record of 11 eliminates (Roman ended up breaking that) to the inclusion of a little hardcore wrestling, the 2001 Rumble is a thrill to watch. But one of the best parts of this Rumble is Steve Austin at the peak of his popularity. The crowd is on fire for him the entire match & that made the whole win feel like such a big deal. Austin would go on to main event against The Rock at universally loved Wrestlemania 17, in which he would turn heel. No other Rumble win seems as important to history as this; well maybe expect one…
1. Ric Flair (1992)
-Until this year, the 1992 Royal Rumble was the only time the WWE Championship was on the line during the actual match. That match was won by the iconic Ric Flair who went on have an impressive run as the champion and co-main event at Wrestlemania VIII against the equally iconic ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage. This Rumble win allowed Ric Flair to have an amazing first run in WWE and help give Flair a much needed second wind of his career. While he didn’t stay too long after, the importance of this Rumble win made up for his short stay. Ric Flair would return 10 years later to WWE & The Royal Rumble to face Vince McMahon in a Street Fight in which he won.

In the battle of good vs evil, Suicide Squad vs Dawn of Justice is fighting to get people’s attention, and so far for me there is one clear winner: Suicide Squad.
Ever since we saw that Batman vs Superman would have the subtitle Dawn of Justice, fans were split in their opinion of the movie. This was before they had even seen any footage. This was only made worse when they released what characters would be included. It felt like they were trying to shoehorn characters into the film, which didn’t need to happen as they had two of the biggest heroes in the world going head to head. The consensus was, why not take their time like Marvel did with Avengers, so that people could get used to the lesser known characters?
Suicide Squad hasn’t had the easiest ride either. For this film they also had questions asked about the casting of certain parts. Namely Will Smith as Deadshot and Jared Leto as The Joker.
Both sides managed to please fans when they got a first look at The Joker and Batman.
Although I think The Joker takes round one here.
In round two we pit the trailers for the two heavyweights together. Both put up a good fight and had trailers designed to give the fans exactly what they want. We get a good look at both films, some may say too much of a look when it comes to certain aspects. In an age where everyone seems to want to know as much about the story as possible, I think Suicide Squad yet again takes that round. You get to have a look at almost all the characters in just under three minutes, without any major plot points being given away. Whereas with Dawn of Justice, they let a very big and ugly cat right out of the bag, which for me, was a bit of a let down. Suicide Squad takes round two for me, but I’ll let you make your own minds up below.
The last round actually took place today when some concept art for Dawn of Justice was released. It gave us a good look at six of the members of the Justice League. They are Aquaman, Cyborg, Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Flash, with room for one more possible entry. Everyone has their fingers crossed for the Green Lantern being included. The buzz about the picture was generally favourable until this picture was released.
This for me is the TKO in an extremely one-sided bout. When you add this to the character poster tweeted by director David Ayer and its no contest.
Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice will be released on March 25th, so will hopefully get to make the all-important first impression. Suicide Squad has an August 5th release date, which gives enough time between them for an equal chance to impress the audiences.
Which one do you think will be the winner once the dust settles?
Last week it was announced that DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow would have an episode with Jonah Hex. Today, Deadline is reporting that Johnathon Schaech will play the antihero in The CW’s drama in a guest-starring role with a possibility to recur.
Jonah Woodson Hex was created by writer John Albano and artist Tony DeZuniga. Hex is a surly and cynical bounty hunter whose face is horribly scarred on the right side. Despite his poor reputation and personality, Hex is bound by a personal code of honor to protect and avenge the innocent.

Schaech is best known for his role in That Thing You Do!
Schaech joins Brandon Routh, Caity Lotz, Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller, Dominic Purcell, Ciara Renée, Franz Drameh, Arthur Darvill and Falk Hentschel in the series.
DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow premieres January 21 on The CW.
Last week Grace Randolph a Youtube star, and former writer for Marvel Comics, Boom!, and Newsarama launched a petition to urge 20th Century FOX to released a PG-13 version of Deadpool so an eight-year-old can see the film with his mom.
Personal note: My mom barely let me watch PG movies when I was eight.
The petition has 3,276 signatures at the time this article was published.
Today, in the true Deadpool spirit another petition was launched for the Obama administration to support the release an X-Rated version of the film to set a worldwide example of free speech since Deadpool has been blocked in China.
“I pay my bills. I go to work. I have health insurance for my entire household. The family volunteers and we believe in STEM education. I’d like to be able to support the local economy by hiring a babysitter so I can go watch a completely vulgar and violent x-rated edition of Deadpool. Tell FLOTUS I will eat raw carrots, celery, and broccoli, while drinking water at the showing. I’ll even only purchase weapons that are registered if I ever felt the need to buy one. Please make America great again.” – states the petition.
What version of the film do you want to see?
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
Starring Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Ed Skrein, Gina Carano, and Brianna Hildebrand, Deadpool is set to be released on February 12.
Fans of DC Films and Warner Brothers have already seen quite a few looks at their interpretations of Superman (Henry Cavill), Batman (Ben Affleck), and Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), but our glimpses of any of the other character that makes up Justice League have been few and far between. We’ve seen early at Jason Moma as Aquaman via a Warner Brothers poster, and now it seems that we will get glimpses of the Flash and Cyborg. This afternoon DC releases the 1st confirmed concept art for the highly anticipated Justice League movies (part one and two) due out in 2017 and 2019. Take a look!
Anthony Hopkins will return for Thor: Ragnarok, but what we don’t know is how director Taika Waititi will interpret the script on screen.
At the end of Thor: Dark World Loki, disguised as Anthony Hopkins, has taken Odin’s place on the throne of Asgard, but the real Odin’s fate remained a mystery. A source close to Geek.com has revealed the plot thread for Odin in the third film.
It’s near impossible to kill Odin, and the best time to try is while he’s in his Odinsleep (a sort of meditation used to recharge the Odinforce, a powerful magic possessed by the ruler of Asgard). When Loki replaced him, Odin wasn’t in his magical slumber. As much as Loki might want to kill Odin, he didn’t — or, at least, can’t — just yet. Whatever did happen, Odin has fled Asgard for Midgard, where he wanders the Earth as one of those crazy-looking “the end is nigh” street-corner hobos, warning of the impending apocalypse (American for Ragnarok).
Geektyrant pointed out that this could be a dark, sad moment for Odin, as the homeless man trying to convince the world it is coming to an end. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is more upbeat than that, and with Waititi at the helm, this could be where he injects comedy into the film. The funny angle does have a greater chance of a miss fire, but Hopkins does have the skill to make the best of an awkward situation.
This plot thread is considered a rumor as no official announcement has been made by Marvel Studios.
Thor: Ragnarok is directed by Taika Waititi, Christopher Yost and Craig Kyle are working on the script, and the film stars Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Ray Stevenson, and Anthony Hopkins.
Thor: Ragnarok will destroy the universe on November 3, 2017.
Everyone knows The Oscars don’t necessarily pick the very best films every year. They pick the ones they’re told to pick. But even then, whether it’s five nominated pictures, ten, or somewhere in between – as is the case with this year’s eight nominees – sometimes the correct answer is right there in front of them! They get it right more often than not, at least in the vacuum of their nominees and which one should win, but on occasion they get it wrong. Very wrong.
Rather than selecting the truest Best Picture they can, the Academy is sometimes manipulated by lobbying, politics, and a fear to go out on a limb and pick a film that will, in a few years, be considered the best of the bunch. Here are a dozen times The Oscars missed the mark with their Best Picture selection:
11. American Beauty beats The Insider – Honestly, The Insider never had a chance up against the box-office and critical power of American Beauty. Sam Mendes’s film was something entirely new and fresh in 1999, pre 9/11, when suburban malaise had yet to be exploited into oblivion with imitators. These days, it rings false and feels ancient. The Insider has only improved with every passing year, and every subsequent viewing. It is antiquated in a sense as well, but in an important way, telling the tale of a type of journalism that has passed us by.
10. Dances with Wolves beats Goodfellas – I’m one to defend Dances With Wolves for what it is. Kevin Costner’s magnum opus is a wonderful Western generating great emotion, fantastic visuals, and solid performances, albeit ham-fisted performances at times. It’s “Oscar bait,” and the backlash makes sense… because it isn’t Goodfellas. Martin Scorsese’s third masterpiece in a decade and a half transcends film, it vaults into that rare air of cultural artifact. But it was much too edgy, to violent, and too frightening for Academy voters, who opted to take the bait instead.
9. The King’s Speech beats The Field – Tom Hooper’s claustrophobic, murky story was Oscar bait of the highest order in 2010. Colin Firth deserved his win for Best Actor, but the film as a whole? Forgettable. Especially when it’s compared to David Fincher’s The Social Network (which was probably the right choice), Darren Aronofsky’s seminal thriller Black Swan, and Christopher Nolan’s Inception. But none of these were safe enough for the Academy, so they went with the period picture about a king with a stutter. Yawn.
8. A Beautiful Mind beats In The Bedroom – The early 2000s were a weird time for Hollywood. With a writer’s strike significantly weakening the quality of the product for a few years, 2002’s list of nominees was considerably thin. In The Bedroom, Todd Field’s tough, captivating family drama, is head and shoulders above the list of nominees. But it was much too dark and upsetting, unlike the inspirationally saccharine Ron Howard doc-drama – which was less true than false – A Beautiful Mind.
7. Driving Miss Daisy beats The Field – This is where things get truly offensive. Driving Miss Daisy is utterly forgettable drivel, not even deserving of its nomination let alone a win. Any of the other four nominees are more deserving, so much so that it’s clear politics were in play. Consider Dead Poet’s Society, Born on The Fourth of July, My Left Foot, and Field of Dreams. Of these five, Driving Miss Daisy is obviously the most forgettable.
6. The English Patient beats Fargo – We should have all listened to the wisdom of Elaine on Seinfeld. The English Patient is a stodgy slog of a film, a faberge egg – beautiful but hollow. On the other hand, Fargo is one of The Coen Brothers’ greatest achievements in a career full of greats. The “sorta-true” tale of crime and corruption on the frozen tundra of North Dakota is a masterpiece of mood, humor, and pathos. The English Patient is absolutely forgotten these days.
5. Forrest Gump beats Shawshank Redemption/Pulp Fiction – At the time, Forrest Gump had more momentum than any movie ever. It was a crowd pleaser, a box-office smash, a 20th-century American history book come to life. Tom Hanks was a shoe in. Shawshank Redemption, on the other hand, was a little seen drama a the time that history has since appreciated. There was also this small indie called Pulp Fiction that reshaped cinema for decades. But it was much too edgy at the time. Forrest Gump has not improved with age.
4. How Green Was My Valley beats Citizen Kane – In one of the earliest instances of the Academy being scared of new, fresh material, they chose a film about a small town ravaged by coal miner’s strikes. It was a heavy-hitter for 1941, early Oscar bait. But Citizen Kane will find its way near the top of pretty much any best-of-all-time lists. It reshaped the way films were shot, it brought in wonderful new techniques, and it captured the mad genius of a young Orson Welles.
3. Shakespeare in Love beats Saving Private Ryan – One of the most gross miscalculations of The Oscars came thanks to the power of Harvey Weinstein. The producer lobbied heavily for Shakespeare in Love, a thankless, forgettable period comedy that I honestly can’t remember despite seeing it two or three times. On the other end of the spectrum is Steven Spielberg’s WWII masterpiece, able to tell a small human story in the midst of a sprawling moment of heroism in American culture. It’s clear which film has stood the test of time, and this upset is one of the moments when Oscar officially became political to its core.
2. Crash beats Brokeback Mountain – In 2005, The Oscars had a moment, and squandered it. It was a time when homophobia was falling out of favor with culture in the country, and Ang Lee’s gorgeous romance would have gone a long way to shed the stigma of the 90s. Instead, Weinstein struck again, and Paul Haggis’s abhorrent Magnolia ripoff, complete trash, one of the worst films ever made let alone the worst Best Picture winner, took home the top prize. It transcended embarrassing BP winners, and kept the Academy as a cultural staple stuck in another era.
1. Ordinary People beats Raging Bull –Ordinary People is a fine film, and would be served well as a movie-of-the-week family drama with solid performances. But when was the last time you sat and watched Ordinary People? What is the best scene of the picture? You don’t know, because Robert Redford’s drama has all but disappeared after winning at The Oscars. On the other hand, Martin Scorsese’s ferocious, emotionally-charged, perfect masterpiece, his truest masterpiece, Raging Bull, is arguably one of the two or three best films of the 80s.
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising has its first trailer, and it looks like pretty much the exact same thing as Neighbors. That isn’t all bad – the original movie was a solid Rogen-style comedy full of immature comedy and drug bits. This time around, Rogen and Zac Efron team up to stop a rowdy sorority, so there’s a difference.
Now that Mac (Rogen) and Kelly Radner (Byrne) have a second baby on the way, they are ready to make the final move into adulthood: the suburbs. But just as they thought they’d reclaimed the neighborhood and were safe to sell, they learn that the new occupants next door are a sorority even more out of control than Teddy (Efron) and his brothers ever dreamed of being.
Tired of their school’s sexist, restrictive system, the unorthodox ladies of Kappa Nu have decided to start a house where they can do whatever the hell they want. When Shelby (Moretz) and her sisters, Beth (Kiersey Clemons) and Nora (Beanie Feldstein), find the perfect place just off campus, they won’t let the fact that it’s located on a quiet street stand in their way of parties as epic as the guys throw.
Forced to turn to the one ex-neighbor with the skills to bring down the new Greeks next door, the Radners—alongside best friends Jimmy (Ike Barinholtz) and Paula (Carla Gallo)—bring in charismatic Teddy as their secret weapon. If he can infiltrate the sorority and charm his way through it, the thirtysomethings will shutter the Kappas’ home. But if they think that their neighbors are going down without a fight, they have severely underestimated the power of youthful ingenuity and straight-up crazy.
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising hits theaters May 20th.
