Lucy Lawless took to twitter to respond reports making the rounds last night, that “Xena: Warrior Princess” was getting the reboot treatment at NBC. The actress dispelled the reports as mere “rumors” and “wishful thinking” although she did express interest should it become a real thing.
Sorry, friends! news of a #Xena reboot is just a rumor. I'd love it to happen one day but it's still in the wishful thinking stage.

It is still entirely possible that the producers and studio are working on it without the knowledge of Lawless as she is just an actress and wouldn’t be involved in the early stages. But considering her close relationship with the producers, it may well be in the know.
