Lin-Manuel Miranda Performs On ‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver’

Lin-Manuel Miranda closed out ‘Last Week Tonight With John Oliver’ with an emotional song pleading with the U.S. government for debt relief for Puerto Rico.

Miranda won the 2016 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for his Broadway play Hamilton in which he wrote the book, music, lyrics, and stars as Alexander Hamilton.

Puerto Rico is in a financial crisis and needs to restructure its $70 billion debt by a May 1 deadline and can’t do it without help from the U.S. government due to a variety of loops in U.S. and Puerto Rican law.
