Without further ado, the thirteenth Doctor has arrived:
BBC announced Jodie Whittaker, star of Broadchurch and Attack The Block, is the first-ever female Doctor and will make her debut at the end of the Doctor Who Christmas special later this year.
“I’m beyond excited to begin this epic journey, with Chris and with every Whovian on this planet,” Whittaker said. “It’s more than an honor to play the Doctor. It means remembering everyone I used to be, while stepping forward to embrace everything the Doctor stands for: hope. I can’t wait.”
Whittaker takes over the TARDIS from Peter Capaldi, who portrayed the Doctor since 2013.
As promised, the Thirteenth Doctor was announced during the Wimbledon men’s finals a few minutes ago.
