Geekflix – Top ‘Netflix’ Picks For September 2017

Another month down and only a third left of 2016 is left. This means it’s once again time to look at all the new titles which are coming to the Netflix. These are all the titles a geek needs to see to keep their nerd cred strong.

Dead Poets Society (September 1st)

Oh Captain my captain! If you are in the mood for some good drama, it’s time to watch one of Robin Williams’ most emotional performances. If you consider yourself a fan of the late comedy actor and you haven’t taken the time to watch this film, then you are definitely missing out.

Disney’s Mulan (September 1st)

Despite Disney’s announcement they will soon have their own streaming Network a lot of Disney titles will be added to Netflix this month. Starting things off we have both Mulan and Hercules coming to the platform. Though Hercules is a great film itself Mulan gets the choice this month as something about gives it priority. Maybe it’s the constant Szechuan sauce memes from Rick and Morty.

Final Fantasy XIV: Daddy Of Light: Season 1 (September 1st)

No, it’s not a typo. Daddy of Light is the actual title. The series is a Japanese drama where a father and son bond through playing Final Fantasy together. Not the worse concept actually once you hear the synopsis. Who knows, might actually be a great watch if you give it a try.

Gangs Of New York (September 1st)

Jonesing for a little Martin Scorsese after news he would direct a Joker movie but unsure if he can deliver on the violence and chaos? Then the Gangs of New York is the perfect film to change your mind. Watch as Leonardo DiCaprio plays a character who seeks revenge against the man who murdered his father and the bloodshed which comes in the process.

Jaws (September 1st)

Summertime
The movie which made everyone afraid to go into the water is coming to Netflix. Watch as Sheriff Brody has no choice but to try to defend his town from one of the most deadly killing machines on the planet. Then check out Jaws 2 and watch him have to do it all over again. Stop there though. Jaws III and Jaws: The Revenge are not worth your time.

Pulp Fiction (September 1st)

You know what they call a Quarter Pounder with cheese in France? This is one of the many quotable lines in Pulp Fiction from Quentin Tarantino. Watch as John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson play two Hitmen just trying to do their job and the problems they run into in the process.

Walking Dead: Season 7 (September 8th)

The season which introduced everyone’s favorite sociopath Neegan will soon arrive on Netflix. Watch as Rick and the group struggle to survive against this maniac in the horde of Walkers which are out to get them every day of the week.

Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (September 19th)

The live action adaptation of the classic Disney film will be coming to Netflix in September. The reviews were mixed on this one. Some loved it and some hated it. It being on Netflix is the perfect opportunity for you to check it out for yourself and make your own assumptions.

Gotham: Season 3 (September 21)

As the city is still crying out for Batman, it’s up to Gordon and Bullock to do what they can can to stay alive. The first part of this season had the nickname Mad City, which was followed up by Heroes Rise. Basically if you are a Batman fan then you owe it to yourself to check out the latest season.

The Magic School Bus Rides Again (September 29th)

The educational program of your childhood is back again. A entire new generation will able able to watch as Miss Frizzle takes her students on insane adventures on a bus which has the ability to transform. Admit it. You all wished your own school bus could do it.
