Geekflix – Top NETFLIX Picks For February 2018

With the first month of 2018 down, it’s time to look at the new releases coming to Netflix. In the month of Valentine’s Day, it’s important to find something which makes your heart pitter patter. So let’s showcase the shows which deserve your Geek love.

Aeon Flux (February 1st)

Aeon Flux

An adaptation to one of the trippiest bits of adult animation to come out of the 90s is coming to Netflix. The main appeal from the film is Charlize Theron as the titular character. Maybe viewing of this film will help to showcase how she was always destined to become a great action hero.

Goodfellas (February 1st)

Goodfellas

“As far back as I can remember, I always wanted to be a gangster.” This is the iconic line which opened this film. A movie which helped Joe Pesci win an academy award and will have you asking everyone “You think I’m funny?”

Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 (February 1st)

Kill Bill

A film which blended Quentin Tarantino’s love for Samurai films and anime with his unique style of directing and filmmaking. If you haven’t fallen in love with the Bride as she goes on her path of vengeance, you owe it to yourself to check it out for the first time.

Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (February 1st)

Tomb Raider

With a new adaptation of the franchise coming soon, it’s important to see previous attempts to bring the character to life. In this film based on the popular video game series, Angelina Jolie plays Lara Croft as she takes on robots and the Illuminati all while looking fabulous.

Men In Black (February 1st)

men in black-box office-film

A film which was so good, it spawned sequels, an animated series, and is getting a spin-off coming in 2019. Take the time to watch where it all began as a cop (Will Smith) is recruited into an agency which policies alien activity on Earth by a man known as K (Tommy Lee Jones). Just skip the second one and move to the third if you wish to continue watching the film series.

The Emoji Movie (February 8th)

Emoji movie

Hailed as the worst movie of last year, you can take the chance to see if it really is as bad as everyone said it was. Only watch it once though, if you do it more than once you may give the studio the feedback which will make them believe the film was a good idea.

The Joel McHale Show: Featuring Joel McHale (February 18th)

Joel McHale

A pop culture news show starring Joel McHale? Gee, this doesn’t sound familiar at all. Still, you have to admit the actor returning to this style of show does sound appealing. There will be a good chance it will be entertaining so give it a watch.

FullMetal Alchemist (February 19th)

Fullmetal Alchemist

Yes it is live action anime adaptation. I know you have been burned before dear reader. There is no way to guarantee this film won’t be another heartbreak. Still, you have to keep putting yourself out there and hope someday you’ll find the film you have always been waiting for. And if a movie based on one of the best anime series ever made doesn’t deserve a chance, I don’t know what does.

The Frankenstein Chronicles: Season 1 & 2 (February 20th)

Frankenstein Chronicles

With a film starring Sean Bean, there always is a good chance his character is going to die. Luckily, in a series featuring the science of Frankenstein there is a chance he will be revived. Still, the series is the perfect way to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the original film coming out.

Jeepers Creepers 3 (February 24th)

Jeepers Creepers

The third movie finally came out? How did I miss it? This is the joy of having Netflix though, it allows a person to catch up on the films they didn’t watch when they were in theaters. This time around, the film will finally explain the origins of the Creeper. After waiting over a decade, it better at least answer this burning question from the previous two films.
