3. Arrow, “Fallout” (Oct 12th)

Arrow’s season premiere is the most obnoxious soap-opera-y episodes of the the week. All the underwater arrow shots & cool new Wild Dog costumes can’t distract from the bland story tropes. Even the twist of revealing Ollie’s identity to the public doesn’t distract from his boring attempts to reconnect with his son. Sticking Thea in a coma is one of the oldest tricks in the TV drama books. Same with Quentin relapsing because he killed his alternate reality… okay, that one’s less basic. The side plot of Dinah & Diggle’s secrets don’t pack nearly enough punch to warrant the screen time they get. And are we really supposed to believe Deathstroke’s walking free as Oliver’s BFF? Maybe if Doctor Faust was less obnoxious, or if the villain’s plan was simpler to follow, it’d be a cool episode. All that this episode delivers is an Arrow-Deathstroke Dream Daddy shipper’s delight that would put Supercorp to shame.

SCORE:  6/10 Comas

WEEKLY WIN TALLY:

The Flash: 1 Week
