This series will be a brief, semi-comedic review of the CW superhero shows. You can check out last week’s review post here. The only shows discussed will be ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, and ‘Supergirl’. There WILL be some spoilers discussed, so only look at the reviews you’re up to date on!
3. Supergirl, “Wake Up” (Nov 20th)
The episode finds a solid way to bring Mon-El back around. It was inevitable that Kara’s former flame would make his way back to Earth. The wormhole stuff is confusing, but at least it promises a less cutesy & bland dynamic. J’onn’s strained relationship with his father is compelling, and we finally see Reign Mommy as a potential baddy! The only real downside to the episode is that it just… sorta ends? Aside from the Reign reveal, there’s next to no resolution or hit to the end of the episode. “Wake Up” fails to stick the landing, but SUPERGIRL still manages to pull out one of its strongest episodes this season.
