In a story exclusive to pioneering “geek’ website Ain’t It Cool News, the trailer for the long in the works film, 5-25-77, was revealed today. AICN’s Harry Knowles (who has seen a rough cut and has been championing the film since it’s inception almost a decade ago) calls it a “geeky Dazed and Confused“. I see a bit of Almost Famous in it a bit as well. Check out the trailer below.
The film has had a long, turbulent history that has been covered across the internet for ages. Everyone from SlashFilm to IndieWire has at one point covered it over the years. It’s one of those stories/projects that popped up every once in a while and also kept me wondering if it would ever make it to an audience. Glad to see it’s finally happening! What do you guys think? 5-25-77 is written and directed by Patrick Read Johnson. It stars John Francis Daley, Austin Pendelton, Collen Camp, and Neil Flynn. It is scheduled for release on May 25, 2017.
