Monkeys Fighting Robots

This series will be a brief, semi-comedic review of the CW superhero shows. You can check out last week’s review post here. The only shows discussed will be ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, and ‘Supergirl’. There WILL be some spoilers discussed, so only look at the reviews you’re up to date on!

2. The Flash, “Luck Be a Lady” (Oct 24th)

The Flash has some fun with blowing some bad luck out of proportion. The Jinx-Hazard is annoying at times, and her card game lingo gets old fast, but does have some fun comical villainy. It does seem like the biggest instances of bad luck are Iris’ failed surprise wedding and her surprise new brother. Tom Cavanaugh’s return is rather lackluster – he only shows up as a Jessie surrogate to dump Wally. It’s nice to see we won’t need yet another Earth’s Wells – though Jessie literally kicking her dad off her Earth is rather extreme. Thinker’s plans outside of “I made some villains” are pretty unclear, but he’s created some well-motivated Moody Metas for the show. Hopefully the show isn’t actually writing off Kid Flash, because he’s been one of the most consistently great characters on the show.

SCORE: 7.5/10 Marbles
