Buffy the Vampire Slayer celebrated its 20th anniversary this past week. The cult series featured a phenomenal blend of drama, comedy, and non-stop supernatural action. It’s been off the air for years now, but there are still plenty of shows that carry Buffy’s spirit on. Here’s a list of great series on the air right now that Buffy fans can enjoy!
2. The Strain
While the other shows mirror Buffy’s style, The Strain draws from the general premise. Specifically, the element of slaying vampires. The Strain is like a NYC-based The Walking Dead, with long-tongued vampires taking over the city. The series is also co-created by Guillermo Del Toro, the creator of fantastic projects like Hellboy and Pacific Rim. It’s stylized in a specific way, and while it’s not always the most interesting, it is a visual treat. The Strain has three seasons out through FX, with a fourth – and final – season coming this year.
