Buffy the Vampire Slayer celebrated its 20th anniversary this past week. The cult series featured a phenomenal blend of drama, comedy, and non-stop supernatural action. It’s been off the air for years now, but there are still plenty of shows that carry Buffy’s spirit on. Here’s a list of great series on the air right now that Buffy fans can enjoy!
3. Jessica Jones
Jessica Jones is among Netflix’s recent crop of Marvel superhero series. But from the crop, Jessica Jones is far from a standard superhero tale. The series is a dark noir story, as the titular Jones hunts down a mind-controlling psychopath from her past. It’s a gripping story, with action and drama – not to mention Marvel’s most fearsome villain. It’s not as light or funny as Buffy, but the kickass female in a super-powered world feels like a great Faith successor. Jessica Jones is a great series to binge on, especially if you’re a Buffy fan or Marvel fanboy. Jessica Jones S1 is available on Netflix, and will return for The Defenders in mid-2017.
