In what is becoming (an awesome) trend, yet another indie comic book series has landed a television show for your viewing pleasure in AfterShock Comics’ The Lost City Explorers.
The partnership in bringing the comic to the small screen involves creators Zack Kaplan and Alvaro Sarraseca, in conjunction with AfterShock and Universal Television.
“The Lost City Explorers is a story to inspire the imagination and unlock everyone’s hidden explorer,” said Kaplan. “Along with AfterShock, I’m thrilled to partner with Universal and help bring this story to television.”
The series, which mashes both science fiction and archeology, is only two issues deep and has already landed a show! If you haven’t had the chance yet, check out this series. It’s a fun one! The official synopsis via AfterShock reads, “Lost cities aren’t just the stuff of myths. They exist hidden right under our noses. But when a mysterious expedition is disrupted by supernatural activity, and an antiquities professor goes missing, his teenage daughter and her friends must become underground urban explorers, follow his tracks on a coming-of-age journey through subterranean tunnels, and ultimately find the holy grail of lost city: Atlantis buried right under New York City!”
Kaplan will write and be an executive producer on the show, while Lee and Jon Kramer, both of AfterShock Media, will also serve as executive producers as well.
Be on the lookout over the next few months in regard to casting and production news.
AfterShock launched back in 2015 and has already claimed Diamond Comic Distributors’ Gem Award as the 2017 Publisher of the Year. For more information regarding its many series, click HERE.
