5 Underrated Wolverine Stories

3Wolverine: Noir

Wolverine has always been the best there is at what he does and in this mini-series, he decides to be Humphrey Bogart. Marvel’s Noir series focused on more grounded and pulpy versions of our heroes set in the 1930s. Logan stars as a private investigator surviving by the skin of his teeth. When the alluring Mariko Yashida comes with a lucrative job-offer, Logan is dragged into web of deceit that threatens to unearth a path that just won’t stay hidden. What you end up with is Wolverine by way of The Maltese Falcon. Some will argue that it embodie all the tropes of noir detective fiction, but that is not always a bad thing. The central mystery is intriguing and keeps our attention, but its resolution is well within the mental capacity of those arm-chairs sleuths looking to beat Logan to the punch. Or in this case, the “snikt”.
