Granted it’s not exactly a huge reveal, but two of the above casting calls are worth focusing on.
Firstly, the call for Native American’s immediately brings to mind either Danielle Moonstar, Thunderbird or Warpath. Personally, I’d love to see Moonstar on screen. Her powers would be far more interesting to portray, and we’ve already seen a version of Warpath on screen in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The second bit of interest is the call for “Sentinel Service Techs”, which confirms the giant robots will once again menace live action mutants after also appearing in X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Gifted reportedly follows Kate and Reed Stewart, two human parents who find out that their children are mutants. They are then forced to go on the run from an anti-mutant government and eventually end up meeting a mutant resistance movement led by a mutant called Sam (Cannonball?!). The government has the Sentinels at its disposal. Some other X-Men like the magnetic powered Polaris and fan-favorite Blink, are rumored to appear as well.
‘Gifted’ is currently in pre-production The show was developed by Matt Nix, who also wrote the pilot episode. X-Men movies veteran Bryan Singer will be directing. Both Nix and Singer, awith Lauren Shuler Donner, Simon Kinberg, Jim Chory, and Jeph Loeb will all serve as executive producers. The pilot stars Redford, Stephen Moyer, Amy Acker, Jamie Chung, Sean Teale, Natalie Alyn Lind, Emma Dumont, Percy Hynes White, and Coby Bell.
