‘The Walking Dead’ Season 6 Finale Will Have A ‘Usual Suspects’ Feel

The big Walking Dead announcement today brought Jeffery Dean Morgan to the cast as the villain Negan.

Negan first appeared in issue 100 of ‘The Walking Dead.’ He is the leader of a group of over 50 survivors in Washington, DC called the Saviors, who subjugate other communities in the area for resources in return for their protection against zombies. The character’s appearance in the comics is based on Henry Rollins, according to series artist Charlie Adlard and Negan’s excessive use of profanity was worked in by Kirkman’s own vernacular and derived from other people he knew.

Ross Marquand, who plays Aaron on the show, spoke with ComicBook.com about the season finale and the introduction of Negan.

“This is the craziest thing ever. It’s the probably the most emotionally wrought and dark episode I’ve ever read. I’ve never read an episode that is so dark and compelling in my life. That’s the god’s honest truth. (…) I had to stop reading this at three different times. It was just messing me up. It is so emotionally dark and twisted,” Marquand.

“It will be one of the most talked about episodes ever,” said Marquand.

“I literally put it up there with ‘Usual Suspects.’ It’s that good. I mean it’s so so well done,” said Marquand.
