The star of the CW’s Arrow Stephen Amell used social media to comment on the #IStandWithAhmed story and things got out of hand and now he’s taking at step away from his computer.
Ahmed Mohamed, a young student in Texas, was arrested by the Irving, Texas police department for bringing a clock to school. Google, Facebook, and even the President of the United State has come to Ahmed’s defense.
The Green Arrow choose to defend the people of Texas and that backfired in a big way.
Stereotyping Texas isn't any better than stereotyping Ahmed. Just so we're clear.

I never looked to Amell as the voice of reason but his comments continued the dialogue that needs to had about racism in America. Twitter being shocked that a white Hollywood actor doesn’t understand what it’s like to be a Muslim teenage in Texas, that’s pretty naive on folks that are on Twitter as well. For Amell walking away from the conversation probably is the smartest move at this time, but hopefully he returns soon with more information and a great understanding of the issues at hand.
Didn't mean to offend anyone. Truthfully. Was simply suggesting that two wrongs don't make a right. I'll go away for a bit now. SA
