Sony has announced that a Venom solo film will hit theaters on October 5, 2018.
Alex Kurtzman is set to direct the project, and he’s no stranger to the Spider-Man franchise. Kurtzman was a writer and excecutive producer on The Amazing Spider-Man 2.
The movie is all Sony’s work, meaning Marvel Studios has no say in its production – this means it won’t exist within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
