New York Comic Con 2015 is in the books but the memories live on. JoBlo put together a nice highlight reel of all the cosplay craziness that took place at the Jacob Javits Center.
New York Comic Con celebrated its 10th anniversary and brought more than 150,000 people together to enjoy all-things pop culture.
Every fan of the MCU wants more Hulk, and his role in The Avengers and Captain America: Civil War has been the source of debate and rumor and, as it turns out, omission. The next sure thing would be a Hulk appearance in Infinity Wars, but nobody wants to wait that long. Well, it seems that Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk will team up with his Avenger buddy Thor in the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok.
According to an exclusive story with JoBlo, The Incredible Hulk will join Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston in the third standalone Thor title. Judging by the direction Thor: Ragnarok is heading in the report, this could be a setup for Planet Hulk in the future.
Here is an excerpt from the JoBlo report:
Mark Ruffalo joins Tom Hiddleston (also confirmed by our sources) and Jaimie Alexander in RAGNAROK, which we’ve also heard will involve a “distant planet” that is “not Asgard and not Earth.” What does that mean? Certainly the theory will be made that this is where Marvel will work in the long-rumored Planet Hulk storyline, and although we can’t completely verify that, we can’t completely deny it either. I’ll leave it to you on how you want to place your bets, but I know where my money is going. Regardless, Ruffalo is on board. As to how much time he’ll spend as Hulk vs. Banner, we can’t say, only that he’s absolutely part of the supporting cast and will feature prominently.
Netflix and Marvel released the New York Comic Con Daredevil season two teaser Monday morning. The teaser recaps season one and gives a glimpse at Elektra and the Punisher.
Daredevil is Executive Produced by Doug Petrie, Marco Ramirez and Drew Goddard, along with Marvel TV’s Jeph Loeb. The series stars Charlie Cox, Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Jon Bernthal, Elodie Yung and Rosario Dawson. The second season of Daredevil is currently filming and will return to Netflix in 2016.
George Miller recently confirmed what everyone was hoping, that he would return to the Mad Max universe for at least two more sequels (we don’t need any more than that). That led to speculation about the story, the cast (Tom Hardy is confirmed for at least two films) and, most importantly, whether or not Charlize Theron’s Imperator Furiosa would be returning.
Miller spoke to Digital Spy about the sequels and Theron’s involvement, or lack thereof. “I’m not sure, is the answer,” Miller said when asked about Furiosa’s return. “She’s not in the Mad Max [sequel] story, but in one of the stories there’s an interaction between [Max and Furiosa]. I can’t really say more than that because it’s still in progress.”
It seems unlikely Theron would sign on and return to the franchise for a quick cameo or brief scene. Undertaking the Furiosa character has to be time consuming and taxing, and for just one scene it seems Theron would be better served moving on to something else. Not having Furiosa back in the fold would also continue the Mad Max tradition of Max being the only recurring character. It’s perhaps the right move, keeping the nomadic tradition of the character alive, despite the fact Furiosa was one of the brightest spots of Fury Road.
What do you think? Would you like to see Charlize Theron reprise her role?
The cast of Jessica Jones was at New York Comic Con over the weekend and Wil Traval discussed his character and the direction the character might take.
Traval mentioned in an interview with IGN that he’s playing a character named “Simpson” on the show, and that he’s based on post-Vietnam War super-soldiers, though “reinvented” a bit for the Netflix series.
Simpson could be the Daredevil villain Nuke. Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli created the cybernetically-altered ex-soldier that has an American flag tattooed on his face. He was part of a super-soldier program that enhanced his abilities. IN the comics Kingpin hires Nuke to kill Daredevil.
What B-list villains do you want to see appear in the Netflix Universe?
The show takes places after a tragic end to her short-lived Super hero career. The series follows Jessica as she rebuilds her personal life and career as a detective who seems to get cases involving people with super abilities in New York City. Marvel’s Jessica Jones premieres on November 20th on Netflix.
The series stars Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones, David Tennant as Kilgrave, Mike Colter as Luke Cage, Rachael Taylor as Patricia “Trish” Walker, and Carrie-Anne Moss. Marvel’s Jessica Jones is Executive Produced by series Showrunner Melissa Rosenberg and Liz Friedman, along with Jeph Loeb, who also serves as Marvel’s Head of Television.
Marvel’s Jessica Jones is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios for Netflix.

Warner Bros. On Saturday, Mark Ruffalo was sneaking around New York Comic Con in costume. Jared Leto decided to follow suit Sunday as he wandered around the Jacob Javits in costume and picked up some comic books. This fan interaction will go a long way to win over the skeptics of the Suicide Squad and Leto’s depiction of the Joker.
Suicide Squad will be in theaters on August 5, 2016.
