Mark Millar and Greg Capullo, both comic book titans in their own rights, will have their collaborative effort, Reborn, scheduled for release in October. The mini-series will be have a six-month run and will be published through Millar’s own Millarworld.
The series will chronicle the exploits of Bonnie Black, who finds herself in a world outside of Heaven and Hell following her own passing from our world. The official synopsis of the series states:
“It’s not Heaven. It’s not Hell. It’s as real and hard as where we live now, but filled with the most amazing fantasy landscapes, jaw-dropping creatures and a battle raging between good and evil. The people she loved in this world — her father and her childhood dog — but oddly, not her husband who had passed over 14 years before. So she sets out to find him. She realizes that she has been reborn as a 25 year-old woman with a sword in her hand and gun of her hip.”
Mark Millar has made a name for himself as the writer of Ultimate X-Men, Ultimates, Kick–Ass, Wanted, Kingsmen: The Secret Service, and Marvel’s seminal Civil War mini-series. Many of these works have also been produced into feature films. Reborn already has buzz for being optioned as an IP as a movie or a television series.
Capullo has penciled many comic book series including, Quasar, X–Force, Spawn, and recently finished a stellar run with Scott Snyder on Batman. This is the first collaboration between the two.
What do you guys think of the comic series? Are you excited at seeing these two work together on a project?
