Monkeys Fighting Robots

This series will be a brief, semi-comedic review of the CW superhero shows. You can check out last week’s review post here. The only shows discussed will be ‘Arrow’, ‘Flash’, and ‘Supergirl’. There WILL be some spoilers discussed, so only look at the reviews you’re up to date on!

2. The Flash, “Mixed Signals” (Oct 17th)

As much as these posts ragged on Flash last year, this season has started off wonderfully. The continued spotlight on Iris, and the the Allen-West relationship, makes for another great episode. When the characters aren’t busy promoting HBO shows, they’re engaging with each other in funny, emotionally-satisfying ways. Even the personal conflict of the evil hackers is interesting! Yes, Caitlin telling Cisco that “girls don’t mean what they say” is dumb and cliche, but the stuff with Barry and Iris at therapy is golden. Not to mention a great villain with an intriguing cliffhanger at the end. All that’s left is let Thinker do more than be slightly menacing in post-credit scenes. Don’t let Thinker be your Thanos, CW.

SCORE: 8/10 Grenade Robots
