‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ Season Nine Receives A Long-Awaited Premiere Date, Teaser, And Poster

After a long, six-year wait, Larry David is back!

Today, per The Hollywood Reporter, HBO revealed that the highly-anticipated, ninth season of the critically acclaimed HBO comedy Curb Your Enthusiasm will be returning to the small screen on October 1st.

Back when the renewal was announced in June of 2016, Larry David was quoted as saying, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned,'” and the teaser that HBO released for the new season echoes this sentiment. Check it out below!

Along with the premiere date and teaser, HBO also released the first poster for the new season, which sticks with the Caesar theme by depicting Larry David in Julius Caesar garb.

Though season eight concluded with Larry and Leon living in Paris for a few months in order to escape spending a few hours with some sick kids at the request of Michael J. Fox, season nine is unlikely to pick up here given the amount of time that has passed since then.

Returning with Larry David for the ninth season are Curb staples, Jeff Garlin, Susie Essman, JB Smoove, Bob Einstein, Richard Lewis, Ted Danson, Mary Steenburgen, and Cheryl Hines.

Hopefully, if the new batch of episodes is “pretty, pretty, pretty good” like we’re all expecting, David can be convinced to return to the show one more time to make it an even ten seasons before calling it quits.

CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM stars “Seinfeld” co-creator David as an over-the-top version of himself in an unsparing but tongue-in-cheek depiction of his life. With 80 episodes to date, the show is HBO’s longest-running scripted comedy or drama series. David also starred in and co-wrote the 2013 HBO Films presentation “Clear History.”
