Wu-Tang Is For The Children, Watch ‘The Purple Tape’

On no better day than Wu Wednesday, Method Man released a music video, “The Purple Tape,” a track off of Method Man’s new album, The Meth Lab, which was issued on August 21st and the legendary MC’s fifth studio album. “The Purple Tape” featured fellow Wu-Tang Clan legends Raekwon and Inspectah Deck, along with Method Man’s son, also named Raekwon. That’s right, two Raekwons in one song, which Method Man’s son addresses, stating “Raekwon no relation to Chef though”, in “The Purple Tapes” hook.

“The Purple Tape” video was directed by the Last American B-Boy and the track produced by J57, with the video dropped on the legendary Hip Hop label TommY BoY Entertainment’s channel.

Before the “The Purple Tape”, Method Man also released another track off of his album “Straight Gutta”, featuring Hanz On and Streetlife. “Straight Gutta” was produced by Cee The Architek, and the video was directed by Taya Simmons & Devin Gibson.
