Geekflix – Top ‘Netflix’ Picks For November 2017

The leaves are turning another color and October is almost at an end. It’s time to look at the geekiest shows, movies, and original programs Netflix has to offer in November. Take the time to look at these titles and plan what to watch after the turkey dinner and before Black Friday Shopping.

Casper (November 1st)

Casper the Friendly Ghost

This film doesn’t get as much respect as it deserves. One of the many comic book movies which came out in the 90s which was non-superhero based. This film helped introduce a new generation to Casper but future installments would decline into multiple straight-to-video spin-offs. Give this one a watch whenever you feel like you want a charming kids movie which won’t bore you to tears.

Charlotte’s Web (November 1st)

Charlotte's Web

Though it didn’t capture audiences as much as the animated version from 1973 did there’s still a lot to be enjoyed about this film. Julia Roberts’ voice as Charlotte is one of those aspects. Watch as a spider helps save a pig from becoming bacon and the life lessons she imparts along the way.

Men In Black (November 1st)

men in black-box office-film

Another film which based on non-superhero comic (yes, it did have a comic book series), this one is remembered fondly as a cult classic. If you haven’t taken the time to watch it in a while then you owe it to yourself to watch again. If you have never seen it before than check it out and see what you have been missing.

Silent Hill (November 1st)

Silent Hill

Movies based on video games are known for being less than exceptional. This one based on the popular survival horror game turned out to be one of the few diamonds genre. Rose is intent on finding out why her daughter is plagued by the town of Silent Hill, only to discover the answers may be more terrifying than she could have possible imagined.

The Whole Nine Yards (November 1st)

Whole Nine Yards

If you haven’t taken the time to enjoy this comedy featuring Bruce Willis and Matthew Perry you really should. Willis plays a former hitman for the mob and Perry places his neurotic Dentist neighbor and hilarity ensues. Try it out if you don’t believe me.

Fate/Apocrypha (November 7th)

Fate Apocrypha

Another installment of the intensely popular Fate anime series will soon arrive. This time around it appears as if the Holy Grail war will have more combatants than ever before. It’s hard to tell if this will be a good starting on point for those who haven’t watch the other series yet but for those who are already enjoying the series it will definitely be a treat.

9 (November 16th)

9

At the time this movie was released it seemed like it was destined to become another Nightmare Before Christmas in terms of guaranteed to become a cult classic. Sadly, the hype and buzz around it has faded and the film didn’t keep as much attention as it should have. Still, this fascinating bit of animation is the perfect thing to watch after Thanksgiving when you are too tired from eating turkey to move.

Punisher (November 17th)

Agents Of SHIELD

More Marvel! Good things come to those who wait! Or in the case of Frank Castle, “Revenge is a Dish Best Served Cold!” Watch as Castle has no choice but to become the Punisher to get the justice he feels he deserves.

Stretch Armstrong and the Flex Fighters: Season 1 (November 17th)

Stretch Armstrong

So, Hasbro, looks like you are trying to jump start another of your lost properties. Which one is it this time? Stretch Armstrong you say? Okay, you have my general interest. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to check out this new series where it looks like Stretch will be mentoring a new team of characters with their own abilities.

Darkness Rising (November 27th)

Darkness Rising

Man, the critics roasted this film when it came out later this summer. Might be worth a second chance when it finally drops on Netflix later in the month. Who knows, it might be the perfect think to satisfy your need for a good creepy movie after Halloween.
