I don't understand the various universes within the Marvel-sphere, so I don't know where Renew Your Vows is supposed to fit in the whole scheme of things, but as far as I'm concerned The Amazing Spider-Man ceased being the true Spider-Man comic at some point in the past 10 years (maybe when Peter and MJ made their deal to save Aunt May and forgot all about their marriage) but Renew Your Vows saved the day by coming along and following the true path and today carries on the spirit and stories of what should be called The Amazing Spider-Man. They should give its deserved title and drop that other book, which is just a mess.

In all honesty, RYV is the only Spider-Man title I've been able to read in years. I feel that it really hits the jackpot (Pun intended), With Peter/MJ's characters. Where as in Slott's recent Years the characters feel out of line. They act nothing like how they should, I get the idea writing for a younger crowd... But isn't that why they brought in Miles? Either way a majority of Parker Fans are a bit older, Also a majority of them grew up with the Marriage. After OMD the Spider-Man Sales have been completely unpredictable, That alone should have been a big enough hint to marvel not to end it. Either way i think that Gerry Conway really Nailed it with this, And he'll have my support the entire time.

I hated what happened with "One More Day." It was like a big middle finger to the fans. Similar to DC when they rebooted the series then brought back the old superman because the reboot was doing horrible. And Marvel having to bring OLD MAN LOGAN as canon to the series because you cant have marvel without one of its MVP's. So this take on renew your vows makes me feel at peace and for those who hated what happened during "One More Day.

When it comes to The Amazing Spider-Man book, the main issue I have with it right now is that it feels like it was made for the people who don't care about the Peter Parker stuff and just want to read the Spider-Man part. That's where The Amazing Spider-Man book is failing at right now. There's no Spider-Man without Peter Parker, and I hate how the current book neglects that, and when Peter Parker is focused on, Dan Slott makes Peter Parker to be the biggest loser in the universe and can't go five minutes without a woman in his life if the 2014 run has anything to go by. The book is entertaining, no doubt about that, but it feels like a big chunk of the book is missing, and it makes me wish Slott was taken off the book.
I can buy that Peter Parker can become a CEO of a company. He's a man of science and he's one of the most intelligent heroes in the Marvel Universe. It's just Dan Slott's writing that doesn't give me the feeling that Peter Parker can run Parker Industries. Would I prefer the man with a wife and daughter over a man struggling to run a company? Yes, but if Dan Slott's writing worked, CEO Parker would have been a fantastic idea.
Sorry, I just have a lot of problems with Dan Slott and overall mixed feelings on the Amazing book. Renew Your Vows is truly amazing, and I'm going to support it to let Marvel get the hint that fans like me would rather have a book like RYV instead of ASM.
