The manga is still going on, so there’s plenty of content to animate. It has a solid fanbase and following, so I’m positive fans of the series and Asa Higuchi (the creator) would love that. Just like you, I feel like Big Windup could’ve and REALLY should’ve gotten more recognition than it did. Truthfully, I wouldn’t mind if A1-Pictures hands this off to another studio (so long as they’re a studio that is known for good animation and execution), but I’d prefer them to do it since they did both the 1st and 2nd season. That 2nd season should’ve had way more episodes than just 14! I can understand some people liking the sports anime that have a lot of action packed moments, but there are people who prefer a sports anime that isn’t always yelling or having spectacular animation (like Ace of Diamond for instance). But out of any slice of life sports anime I’ve watched, this one needs to come back the most.
